I don’t think JP is demanding anything. Everyone has seen his abilities and the market is setting his value. Maybe they know of a different post player that we value more than the market and would choose to not pay JP his market value and go in a different direction? If that happens then I would suspect we don’t think JP’s foot isn’t fully healed. If we view him as healthy and likely solid for next season then we don’t have much choice but to pony up if indeed we want to compete with the best. Skilled 6’-11” guys aren’t in abundance. With our reportedly large budget this year in NIL, is he ours to keep if we want? Or is he simply just asking for too much for what we believe he is worth?
I disagree. He has the ability to score down low. Teams are willing to overpay for a tall center who can score.I don’t think JP is demanding anything. If we can land tanner . This board will completely explode . Rest of the pieces shouldI’m trying to remain calm and not set myself up for disappointment with Tanner.
But the kid is arguably the best returning player in college basketball if he comes back.
It’s dumb and non-specific to say he’s so “well-rounded”, but I haven’t seen many players with his complete skill-set. First step, speed, quickness, release, shot, nose for assists, ability to drive, free throws etc. Chris’s Chandler analogy is on the money, but he’s got something extra.I’m trying to remain calm and not set myself up for disappointment with Tanner.

He does seem to have the play making skills that are rare in today’s college game.Sure hope we can nail him down. It’s dumb and non-specific to say he’s so “well-rounded”, but I haven’t seen many players with his complete skill-set.
