Come on man! That’s a rookie mistake! You know better! Seriously though, that’s just a crazy loss. If you’re in that same situation another 99 times, you’d win them all.

Next week is going to be an interesting series. LSU and the Vols have a lot of the same problems. I’m definitely giving the advantage to the Vols though. Playing at home is going to make a big difference. Wouldn’t surprise me to see a Vol sweep, but I’m hoping my boys can find a way to at least grab one.

Best part of the Chicago trip this weekend was meeting 2 guys in the AD, one who’s involved in fundraising and the other in ticket sales who told me to call them Monday and they’ll get my baseball tickets moved next year to more reasonably priced ones lol.

We lost our Saturday starter, and our pen has been atrocious. We give up so many free passes, it’s hard to stay in a game. Our bats are very streaky, and they’ve been silent more than they’ve been awake.

We had a nice win yesterday though. And somehow today, we’ve come back from being down 7-0, and again from 10-6 to take a 13-10 lead heading into the bottom of the 8th.

Terrible decisions. The bunt. Then today we were all saying anyone but Krenzel. Then the Georgia fiasco. Clark still in lineup. Whatever.

Just watched E’s postgame , not one ounce of accountability for coaching decisions coasting the us the game , he’s got to own it to gain any respect , maybe he was in a hurry to check on Stone , that was a tough hbp for him

After the season’s its been what can he say? The results are what they are. He knows it’s on him and I am sure he feels terrible with the drop off in production.

Last time I posted in the Baseball Forum was after Tennessee was swept by Missouri to start SEC play in 2023. That was after the 2022 team (one of the best college teams ever assembled lost to ND in the Supers).

That 2023 team was 5 and 10 at the half way point in SEC play. Yes, Vitello righted the ship and finished 16 and 14 but lost to Texas A & M in the first game of the SEC Tournament. Vitello was a great coach and I loved his intensity. But some are trying to rewrite history.

Yes, he won a National Champioship but he also lost the last 5 series in the SEC regular season in 2025.

One of the kindess notes I received on this forum was from Old Timer Vol after trying to calm a "win now or I'm done fan base."

Yes we have issues. Let's give Elander some time and space to fix our problems. Winning in this league is hard. Sometimes players come here because of supportive fans.

This team is young. They have taken on the persona of the coach like our teams in the past did. Vitello=Full of energy, passion and communicated with his players all the time. If it looked like you didn't have his passion to win he let you know about it. Josh=Laid back and I haven't seen him talking to his players hardly at all. Hasn't thrown stuff or thrown a fit yet. Calm, little demeanor and his team shows the same traits. Bad women's basketball team. Men's team did well this year except for today. Terrible baseball team. The stage is now set for a disappointing mediocre football team. That would fall right in line with what UT sports has became.

Well T man, I think you are the only one on this board who thinks UT can sweep LSU. Although that is part of why you are the most liked opponent who comes to this board. You never come in with bluster even when you guys were way better than us in the past.

@VetVol That’s never been my style man. I love my Tigers, but I love college baseball too. I think the Vols rise to prominence in baseball the last 5-6 years is not only good for the SEC, but good for college baseball as a whole. I love watching the sport get more and more attention every year.

I can be a nervous fan as well, but I mostly just call things as I see them. And right now, I see LSU and the Vols as very similar teams so far this season. We both have had struggles with our pens, and a lot of inconsistency at the plate. And unless one of the teams finally puts it altogether heading into next weekend, I simply think home-field advantage is going to be huge for the Vols against LSU.

Hate it for the kid but at this point you can’t trust him. I wouldn’t write him off completely but I definitely am not giving him the ball again anytime soon.
