The Official Ole Miss @ #4 Tennessee Lady Vols Softball Series Thread (3/27 6PM ET SECN) (3/28 2PM ET SECN+) (3/29 1:30PM ET SECN+)

This team is going to have to sit down and have a serious talk. I’ll excuse yesterday but today there’s no excuse. Ole Miss is not a bad team but they are not a good team either. Letting them come into your home and take a series from you is concerning. We have the pitching....and believe it or not we also have the bats. But the bats have gone silent and defense has been very poor the last few games. I’d rather be in a slump now then a month from now but you’re going to have to turn it around quickly.

I love to see all these people blaming Rutan for losing when the problem is the whole entire offense sucks right now. Unfortunate all of these people are in slumps at the same time, but we have a lineup of 8 people because Faw is an automatic out. Try someone else at short… we are going to have to change some things up it seems.

I think the problem offensively is that there isn’t any variety. Ole Miss has a really good defense that’s a given, but I think we just were too passive at the plate. Yes we were down the second half of the game but it’s not like we didn’t get runners on, we did. Pushing the envelope, getting runners in motion, maybe could’ve helped us. I also think we took to many pitches that we could’ve squared up and hit on a line

Is Morgan being shown the door? Freshman starter to bench runner/backup.

Could we get a status check from yesterday's "no big deal" contingent?
I think the undefeated start was not a total fluke . . . But directionally did not represent what this team will be . . . Which I think is:

1. A team with very good pitching. The injury situation to KP and walking a lot of people aside . . . It’s still a great staff.

2. At best an offensively ok team . . . As we have seen in the past. They have turned no corner in this area and I think the larger sample size of the entire season will bear that out. Are they as good as the early year - no. Are they as bad as they are right now in this slump - I don’t think so. I think the hope that they had finally turned the corner to be Oklahoma or Texas like with both great pitching and explosive offense was a hope that will not be based in reality.

3. Can they make the WCWS? If they can get in super regional and get some timely hits, yes.

4. Are they the number one team and a threat to win it all? No. I doubt they will even end up as the best team in the SEC.

If anyone happens to run across " the must win now crowd" my stance is still firm. I'm not stressing out over a few losses during a Marathon of a season.

Also when you run across the one Oklahoma fan ask him/her how did the Oklahoma team that destroys everyone lose to LSU yesterday?..

Peace out and nothing but love...😏

The offense is definitely concerning. Pitching has been fine but Karlyn has to stop walking so many people. It gets her in trouble in every game. Bats are horrible right now
She has had control problems all year. I don’t think she is getting the drop ball called strikes she usually gets.
