If immigration was reformed and fixed then one or more of the 3 letter agencies would lose funding.

We can’t have that.

Jesus lived under the Roman Empire, much more brutal than anything we have lived under. But you never heard him ONCE talk about politics or how bad the emperor was (Tiberius, and he was VERY bad):
Jesus was about changing the world at the individual level not concerning himself with temporary political leaders.
(This is one of my biggest disappointments with a large number of my fellow evangelicals).

don't get me wrong here, I don't like the way they are going about the business of deportations and detainments. its wrong.

but ethnic cleansing is a couple steps too far. Trail of Tears was ethnic cleansing. the various population immigrations/deportations after WW2, ethnic cleansing, Gaza/Palestine probably getting right up there with ethnic cleansing but I will wait to see the final picture before judging on a historical scale.

deporting illegals will never rise to that level. now if they open it up to deporting all latinos, illegals, legals, citizens, that would be ethnic cleansing. but even if they deported all latinos that still wouldn't approach the 100 million hyperbole.

DHS shouldn't be tweeting about it, but Bier shouldn't be making more of it than it is. could have just made fun or called it out for being dumb. like how many illegals do they think there is with only 330 million people in the nation. could still get the point across without ratcheting up the rhetoric.

100 million deportations would definitely be ethnic cleansing. We only have 10-20m illegals. He's not saying "what's happening is ethnic cleansing." He's saying 100m deportations would be ethnic cleansing.

You realize there are remigration proponents like Elon Musk and Stephen Miller high up in our government and remigration is ethnic cleansing. It's the only conceivable way to get to 100m deportations and remigration is the most racist thing Republicans are (apparently) allowed to support. Getting rid of all POC's who are immigrants and the descendants of immigrants is what they want. Only white European immigrants allowed.

This is also how you know DOGE was an unserious adventure, because if they had simply gone in and gotten rid of people that refuse to follow existing policy and law (shockingly, there is much codified that actually would do that, it's just not followed) they would have gutted every executive agency down to about 30% of their current size by eliminating a ton of redundancy.

But like you said, the government is just a big old jobs program, so we can't have that.

They are now on job sites grabbing up people that are legally here and revoking their greencards/ workers visas without cause and deporting them.
It’s not like illegal immigrants are the only targets

if they want white only, they are talking about more than 100 million. they need almost 150million. maybe its a flaw in number the OG tweet that was referenced by Kennedy, I just able to respond to what was posted.

and we have seen DHS/ICE deport white people too. yeah its a small minority, but if they were on some type of white dominated US kick, that number would be zero. its around 7% under Trump. not a lot, but not zero.

the problem with Kennedy's argument is he is mixing two different theoreticals that don't match the current reality.
Is it 100 million deportations, or is it an ethnic cleansing. again the 100 million doesn't reach the "goal" of ethnic cleansing, so I am not sure how that assumption is made.

Ethnic cleansing only requires that you target a group and you don't actually have to completely expel them, so saying "nuh uh, because they wouldn't get all 150m non-whites" is just a weird way to spend our time. You know the trail of tears only expelled a fraction of the 5 civilized tribes, right?

ethnic cleansing nor complete reimmigration were mentioned in the tweet. those were assumptions made.

assuming the tweet meant all POC, they are still "leaving" behind about 1/3 of the total. the trail of tears hit AT LEAST 90% of the eastern tribes. the historical ethnic cleansings also involved a very large percentage of death, and usually is the "native" population being forced away. you can argue that 63% is close enough to 90% to fit some definition, or it crosses some undefined threshold. but the rest of the items aren't an issue.

what I am about is actually stopping the bad behavior instead of trying to mislabel everything to score political points. Like I said from the start I am against what DHS and this admin is doing. full stop, no ifs ands or buts. jumping the shark with misapplied fear mongering labels doesn't get us any closer to stopping DHS, it just gets us into boy who cried wolf territory. eventually you will be right, but you will have wasted the good will you have turning everything up from an 8 to an 11.
