The Atlanta Braves

How is Profar being a moron AA's fault?

Many across baseball viewed it as a good signing when it happened
Well for one, we non-tendered Laureano earlier that off-season when he was arby cost controlled. Then AA spent the next 2.5 months making zero meaningful additions only to sign Profar to 3/45, when Laureano and Profar had more or less been the same player over the previous 4 years.

Strider sitting at 96 with 17" IVB is really nice to see. With the injury concerns in the rotation, him getting back to a TOR pitcher is essential for us to reach the post-season.

Vincent Edward Jackson says hi
I'm too young to properly evaluate this but I sometimes think no athlete has ever benefited more from "folks saw the utterly amazing version and projected from there forevermore."

There's my hot, unfounded take.

He is the only professional athlete in history to have been named an All-Star in two major American sports. I'd say that's pretty good.

Jackson also qualified for the NCAA nationals in the 100-meter dash in his freshman and sophomore years.

I agree that it is pretty good. And essentially an unrecoverable injury right in the middle of all of this is... Exactly what I mean.

Him doing both multiplies the impressiveness of both. I imagine his utterly impressive exploits in football inform the mlb all star appearance over like... prime Rickey Henderson.

His name being brought up as a rebuttal to Ohtani as Ohtani pokes a grand slam in the WBC when Ohtani has multiple seasons with higher WAR than Bo's career tally... just puts me more of thinking of him (in baseball) as comparable to, say, Byron Buxton, not Shohei Ohtani. And I will sit in my wrongness as I ponder it.

And, admittedly, I do not know Ohtani's field day sprinting numbers from his younger years.
