There is always a chance someone gets lucky with a MANPAD but both the USAF & USN are prepared for this stuff. We have systems specifically designed for that.

You have to wonder how this is going to affect future negotiations with other countries by the Trump administration (probably going to make things much harder going forward). It looked like Iran had agreed to give up their stockpile of enriched uranium, yet Trump decided to strike anyways.

How many hollow promises have been made to buy them more time? Where has that gotten us?

Our navy has approximately 4,000 aircraft in service. Iran's navy consists of about 70 boats (almost all small) and 54 aircraft (prior to today).
