Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Love that account, glad to see our guy is getting some love
I love hearing Lofton as color analyst along side Mike Keith on Vol Radio. Lofton, who rotated with Hamar and Wilkerson as color analyst for most of this (his debut) season, is taking over the primary role in advance of the postseason.

Lofton scored 2,131 points as a Vol from 2004-08 and won SEC Player of the Year in 2006-07. He was a two-time consensus All-American and his No. 5 jersey now hangs in the rafters of Thompson-Boling arena.

Is Charles Bediako the greatest journeyman basketball player of all time? Who else has concurrently played professional basketball, college basketball, and international basketball? Can’t think of a single other example.
"And without forfeiting games! That's the truly impressive part." -- Greg Sankey

Joey and Chris Brazzell both talking about how different the current Vols offense was this past year. Which was obvious to me, but so many still think it's the same offense as 2022 and it wasn't really close. Just unfortunate the defense was so damn bad. We for the first time, had answers on offense when tempo didn't work. Will be interesting to see if we can expand on it with young inexperienced QB's....which is why it would've been nice to get a vet or if our judge had just given us our QB back.

Reporters taking an opportunity to slight our WR and Heupel. Situation normal all f-cked up.

He and Ron Slay were my favorite basketVols of all time. Mashack third.

I have a feeling Boswell will join them.

Also plays on his Church's Upward basketball team.

Vol Aiden Ifkovits will compete in the hammer throw in the SEC Indoor Track & Field Tournament -- live on SECN+ at 2:30 ET today. He's within striking distance of placing in the only mens final of the day. Preliminaries will follow for all other events.

In tomorrow's finals, here are our guys to look out for (with their present place):

If you want to watch Vol Aiden Ifkovits compete in the SEC Track & Field Tournament hammer throw, it's will be on SECN+ at 2:30 ET today. After setting a Tennessee freshman record last year, he's in 4th place headed into today's final round -- within striking distance of placing. That's the only final today.

Thanks. We need more information about our track and field program.

Just looked at the current Bracketology. It shows UT as a 5-seed in the South region with the following teams:
1-seed - UConn
2-seed - Florida
3-seed - Houston
4-seed - Texas Tech

That would be a really tough path. Texas Tech already has wins over Duke, Arizona and Houston. They play #4 Iowa State tomorrow.
TT lost their best player, so actually not the worst!

The worst thing about getting the 5 or 6 seed is getting a really good mid major 12/11 seed or high major bubble team. Like we could end up having to play someone like Miami OH who has elite scoring or some tough Big 12 bubble team.

Sadly lazy media is rampant everywhere...it's all about clickbait sound bytes.

What I wish Chris had said...

"Jalin has gotten just 73 targets in his career and over half were in his rookie season where his yards per reception would have been good enough to put him in the top 10 in the NFL. Cedric has gotten more consistent opportunities with Cleveland though and I'm a bigger and faster body than he is."

"So many TN receivers have struggled in the NFL"

When they say that they're talking about Hyatt specifically. And its a lazy take. I'd like to think the ball-knowers in NFL front offices arent falling for that.

Not a single Vol receiver has gone first round so its not like the world has been expecting an All Pro.

Hyatt has struggled. How much of that is the Giants' dumpster fire, how much is it Hyatt himself, and how much is on what our offense did or did not prepare him for?

Tillman's only struggle has been injuries. Thornton had some great games this year. Velus Jones changed positions but just won a Super Bowl if I'm not mistaken.

That's it. That's the list of receivers eligible for this statement. It's lazy.

Here are the finals times for tomorrow. Easy video link at utsports.com

Traunard Folson and Davonte Howell promise to provide a smoking good time in 60 meters! Check the list I posted above: we have a lot of great athletes competing.

Ifkovits will be in the second flight or group of throwers. So no rush to tune in, if you're only looking for Ifkovits.

Yeah. And Jauan Jennings sucks in the NFL too.
