Who cares, the game has changed. It's all about buying the best team you can every year.
Brandon wasn't starting this year anyway and probably thinking he'll be ready to beat GMac out next year
Joey looked straight into triple coverage vs OU and decided "Imma throw it anyway." Same vs Alabama at the goal line. I'm good. Let's move on.

We knew he was an INT machine. We also knew if he had at least a 4/1 TD/INT ratio we may win some games. His ratio was better than that. This past seasons schedule probably helped more than anything.

Me too but the thing is if we don't play along like everyone else because we actually want to play our young talent then we're at a disadvantage

Im on the GMac train.
Me too.

Not because Gmac would be better than Joey in 2026. No way he will...Joey led the SEC in passing yards and was close in TDs. Gmac isn't gonna do that in his 1st year starting college ball...BUT Gmac needs to get this 26 season under his belt SO he can be ready to ball out next year in 2027 when we have a playoff caliber team ready to make a run. If Gmac just puts up the same numbers Nico and Milton did in their 1st years as starters, ~20TDs, 5INT we will go 8-4 probably next year and be set up for playoff runs in 27 and 28 when all the talent from these stellar 25 and 26 classes has matured some. I hope Joey does not come back and I love the guy. Its not what's best for thr program though IMO.

You go to war with the army you have not the one you want. If JA is back he gives us the best chance to win in 26, if not GMAC will have to do.

What? That's not even close. He had a 2/1 ratio (15 TDs / 7 INTs) in SEC games, and threw for 1 TD and 2 INTs in the New Mexico State game - actually he was 24/10 for the season so even counting non-conference he was never even close to 3/1, to say nothing of 4/1.

And while this isn't fair, if you just take the "big games" - Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia - he was 8 / 5. The Kentucky game (3/0) is what kept him above 2:1 in conference.

Does it look as if CJH might have actually had both a plan a and plan b for the off season???
Plan A was get QB1 from portal
Plan B was get QB2-3 from portal to compete with GMac / Brandon
Plan C was Joey A coming back

Heupel likely has a plan D thru Z as well.
As a HC, you MUST plan for any and every contingency or you find yourself out of a job sooner rather than later.
Look at Sunshine Billy...it's obvious he had no plan at QB past Lagway and that didn't work.

Reading where Joey has pulled out of the Pavia lawsuit and refilled in Knox Cty court for an injunction to allow him to play next season. Ole Miss QB has done the same in Miss. AL BB coach has opened the door to another avenue of chaos when they got an AL federal judge to issue an injunction allowing the pro basketball player to come back and use his last yr of eligibility.

Heuple will have some creative juggling to do with his QB's if Joey comes back. Be intersting.

I went back and reread my post. Nowhere did I say he was a 4/1 ratio. What I said was that if he had a 4/1 ratio. Dumb azz, freaking read a post before you quote it! Geesh.

"We also knew if he had at least a 4/1 TD/INT ratio we may win some games. His ratio was better than that."

That's what you wrote. "His ratio was better than that."

Until Gmac hits the portal, and Brandon begins to wonder the same thing…Am I really ever going to a true shot of starting here?
Yes Faizon, you can transfer back to Tennessee as a 7th year senior, after spending time at 6 other schools, a German semipro league, and of course after suing your way back onto our college roster…
Yes, the opportunity is there.

Please let GMAC play and even though I liked Joey Aguilar, let us please move on and try to play the young guys. Quit recruiting them if you are not going to play them. I can't even imagine how GMAC is and is going to feel if this Aguilar mess continues. And then are we going to do this again next year. Geez

What?? GMac can't hit the portal until next January--JA would be long gone by then, even if he does get a waiver for the coming year. Why would he transfer then? Make it make sense.

Espn Tennessee QB Aguilar files lawsuit seeking extra eligibility says we pay him $2 million.

Money better spent compared to previous QB.
The problem is: what if he tries, and possibly wins, the same lawsuit next year saying the NCAA has no right to keep him from playing 7 or 8 years because he can make $2M playing and they're just unfairly restricting the market?

Joey could go pro now. He has options.

So is the NCAA "time limit" meaningless and every player can sue for more time? Is there a clear "end point" for college eligibility and if so, WHY is there a clear endpoint legally?

That's my take also. Without him we win 5 or 6 maybe.

Is this a definite indication that the staff has no confidence Gmac can get the job done?
