According to VQ, TN reportedly has roster spot & NIL money for Joey A

I like Joey but this stuff has to stop.
That's pretty vague. If its a general reference to NIL, I would agree that some changes are needed, particularly there probably need to be actual contracts.

But in the meantime, we have to play the game, and I would prefer to play it to win rather than just whine about how bad it is.

portal closed. it's open once a year. it would have to be us or nfl. that's what his lawsuit is claiming.
Wrong, He already entered the portal on Jan 14. The portal only closes on entry. If he wins, he’s in the portal and can sign with whom he pleases. We’ve seen a few players do this in the past.

He improved greatly over his tendencies at App State, particularly early in the season. Later on he regressed a bit, but no reason he can't improve again, and being able to participate in spring practice and through the summer gives plenty to work with.
Exactly. If he gets a second year in the program he has the chance to do great things.

Would you care to cite where Joey A is in the portal? I've not seen that reported anywhere. Thx
Yeah I haven't seen that either and didn't think he could enter the portal anyway until something is ruled, he's technically out of eligibility

He's not listed online at the usual places as being in the portal so I'm skeptical but dude listed a specific date, Jan 14, so I thought I'd ask what he's seen that maybe I missed.

Joey will probably win in Chancery Court in Knoxville, I suppose, and that's good for the Vols but it's a little like hoping a major expressway bridge collapses with only your ex wife on it.

I'm not sure the good is worth all the inconvenience that comes with it. 😎

I agree. The crazy thing is the NCAA is ok with letting a guy that played Pro basketball come and play, that's far worse than letting some JUCO guys play.
NCAA did not let the BB guy play, they denied him and he got an AL judge to overrule them and issue an injunction to play. The NCAA is basically toothless now as you can get a judge to overturn any ruling they make. Therein lies the problem, no rules.

The confusion is that the NCAA did actually allow a guy who was drafted by the NBA and a couple G League guys play, so it's hard to tell what's up with the NCAA position.

It is true that the Bama guy went to court after the NCAA denied him.

It's a mess.

Yeah James Nnaji is who I'm talking about that played Pro ball, not the Bama guy.
James got drafted but didn't play in the NBA, he played on a Pro team overseas.
There's also another guy that I think did play NBA ball that is trying to come back.

I appreciate what Joey did for Tennessee & wish him well. Still, I say "Move on" to all parties so GMac can take the QB reigns for the Vols.

I don't follow bball that closely but the NCAA stepped in it and seems determined to just wade on in from there when it comes to bball.

Eventually someone who left college football with eligibility left and washed out of the NFL combine is going to want to come back.

I wouldn't put a nickel down betting either way on the NCAA denying them or accepting them. There is no way to know.

We should absolutely be pushing for JA back. Let GMAC get bigger, stronger, more mental & physical reps. If we can get into some runaway games (estimating 3 games), we'll through in GMAC and Brandon in for some good reps.

Primarily the same offense and JA will be going through the second off-season together (this time a full off-season) and I think that could be a recipe for an even more potent offense.

I'm pretty sure CJH knows from weeks ago JA will win or lose court date, I'm friends with a judge and I can imagine they kinda leak what they'll do regarding JA similar to how Bama gets judges to rule in favor of their basketball guys etc etc blase blasè

The coaches know more than ANY of use. They know JA his good and bad tendencies and I think his coming back was the plan all along. If he does comeback and GMc adds weight and strength next year you have a competition for the number 1 spot if not FB is the QB and GMc hits the portal.

You must be joking. When a 64 year old personality like Cignetti says “Google me. All I do is win.” You’d better pay attention.
What lol why must I be joking? No one had Indiana winning it all at the beginning of the season. I didn't even think they were ranked but went back and looked and they were ranked 20. Behind Illinois

Joey is a huge plus knowing the offense. He is a massive upgrade over 2 freshmen QB. That judge is a good judge and a UT graduate.
