Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2025-26

I wouldn’t go this far…yes it’s a loaded roster 100%.
I just think there needs to be a compromise in how the team is structured from a strategic standpoint without saying it’s time for a new coach.
At some point, sit down and figure it out with a clean slate. Players and coaches.
People are believing what their eyes are showing them this is a top 10 roster🍊. And I think CKC could become a highly successful coach by taking the necessary approach to grow and develop her system beyond its core.

The issue is, there are a few players on this team that she added that she didn't need and that (imo) is what is causing the issues. Too many players who have played too many other places and had some sort of issues there and you bring them here and take away minutes and opportunities from players who were here.

This would be a far better team if we would've prioritize the returners and embraced playing the freshman class. There was no need for Barker, Robertson, or Jersey.

#25 Washington gets beat by unranked Illinois by 9.

#11 Ohio State beats unranked Nebraska by 19.

I'm interested to see Michigan and UCLA square off in a couple of weeks.

one of the announcers said it and could be true the Big 10 might be the more complete league top to bottom the SEC is very top heavy but you gotta bring it every night

The Big 10 is definitely real close to the SEC, but dont think the Big 10 goes 11 deep like the SEC does.
Here is a fun exercise, match the ranked SEC teams to the ranked B10 teams by order:

#2 UCLA #3 SC
#8 Mich #4 Texas
#9 OSU #5 LSU
#10 Iowa #7 Vand
#12 MichST #11 Okl

#22 MD #13 OleMiss
#24 Wash #16 KY

color key: tossup, advantage

The interaction between coaches is going to be fun. I think Kellie will keep it classy and Kim will be in an awkward position but handle it. I also wonder how the crowd reacts? Kellie has to know it’s gonna be tough. It will be fun to see Jackson and Kylie and how much they’ve grown as well.
Couldn’t get your post out of my mind, so I wanted to agree, and add, Kellie is warm, well spoken and courteous to everyone, including the media, and is always classy.

SC vs aTm tonight probably won’t have much attention, it should not tbh. But noteworthy that two players are out for SC, two starters from the last few games, Latson and Makeer. Latson is either ill ot tweaked her ankle, no one knows. Makeer was injured in the first 4 minutes of the last game, hip injury, again no one knows the severity. SC has had a full roster for only 5 games this year due to injuries and illnesses, and they only have 11 on the squad since Kitts and Watkins were lost for the season. SC is feeling the same pain Uconn dealt with the previous three seasons prior to last year. It happens, all you can do play the game with what you have.

Feels weird to me they would fire her right in the middle of the season, but I guess they want to get a head start on looking for a new coach and prepping for roster turnover?

That or something else happened behind the scenes and they wanted her to have a quick exit.
