2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

It makes me realize how much I miss the old February signing day. Signing day eve was a madhouse.
The thing I sincerely miss most about the way recruiting used to be. It was like an extra holiday. Now, with most of them signing in the middle of the holiday season chaos, it feels more like an inconvenient distraction.

What made CFB special? Watching kids get their brains bashed in for zero compensation?! Oh boy, those were the days! Forced exploitation! Bring those days back!!!
I’m all for the kids getting paid, but don’t be so naive to think they got zero compensation then, and no one said to bring back those days. What the OP is saying, is that we miss the pageantry of what college football used to be when we had players that committed to a school because they loved that school and not the way it’s become so mercenary so fast.

I do think the NIL structure at some schools like Miami and Tech are going to spiral.

I also think Danny hamstrung us some (especially on Mensah). I also think often times we were just outbid. Heuple is very particular as we have moved on from a lot to
We know Miami is going to outbid us for him. Why waste the time and give the leverage.

That was all a facade, it was always about money. It's just about money in the open now. A lot of the things we remember as Nostalgia and Pagentry had an ugly underbelly that we didn't see. It's out in the open now.

So if a coach like (clears throat) Day or Sark fails to win are they going to demand coaches be fired immediately now?
Leashes are way tighter
cause you don't build a 50 million dollar hedge fund and let a 10 million dollar fund manager run losses
