But he was smart enough to grab the kid from Elon as insurance. Did the same last year. Gotta give credit where credit is due. There are players out there if you can spot them, Clearly, Kiffin and his staff excel at evals. He might be scummy, but the guy knows what he's doing. You all do realize that there is a chance that he will not recover enough to play next year. Kiffin decided to roll the dice - it may or may not pan out.
Unpopular take- Kiffin did what it took to get the Qb he wants and thinks he needed for LSU to win. Is he a troll? Sure. Do I wish our staff was a little more cut throat and do what it takes to win? Absolutely.I’ll explain. Kiffin is an arrogant a$$hole that has not changed as some of us thought since he left USC. Any other coach in the FBS wouldn’t do that as far as posting on social media. He will be the most hated coach in America and LSU will be the most hated team. I hope ESPN loses its obsession with him.

Its not unpopular to us that don't have our nose stuck up his but.Unpopular take- Kiffin did what it took to get the Qb he wants and thinks he needed for LSU to win. Is he a troll? Sure. Do I wish our staff was a little more cut throat and do what it takes to win? Absolutely.
And no I don’t have a Kiffin obsession. Take that name out of the equation and many here would be talking about what a good job it was.
I'm not upset at all about Leavitt. Just too risky. Still, if Heupel's plan was to hope Aguilar got another year, he gets what he deserves if it doesn't happen. Look at Kiffin. He got the kid from Elon as a plan B. Now if Leavitt has issues, he's got options. Heupel could learn a thing or two from Kiffin, no?I think this went like it should. CJH probably wasn't willing to dump $3-4m into an injured QB when he has JA fighting in court, Faison coming in, and Mac already with a year under his belt in the system. He's probably not dead set on recruiting a QB#1. He's probably looking more for a QB#3. Levitt was more likely an opportunity that came our way. We likely floated a reasonable offer at him and had his interest. But LSU is in a much worse position at QB and likely backed a dump truck full of money on the kid. I mean, Kiffin already took a dump on the kid and still got him to sign. What else could it be besides money.
Is that really what he knows? I personally *think* that Heupel believes in what he's doing and thinks he's going to be successful, because he is intensely competitive. You read minds about as well as Gary Danielson who always seemed to know what everyone was thinking.Heupel knows that by firing his DC and having him fall on th sword that it bought Heupel another year to have terrible record and get a free pass. Heupel isn't worried about what happens next year. prepare for 5 or 6 losses. Tennessee is "rebuilding" yet again. like we always seem to be
Not upset either . There were plenty of good portal QB’ s out there. But if Heupel goes with G Mac or Beau ? Oh wellI'm not upset at all about Leavitt. Just too risky. Still, if Heupel's plan was to hope Aguilar got another year, he gets what he deserves if it doesn't happen. Look at Kiffin. He got the kid from Elon as a plan B. So, if Trinidad Chambliss was granted another year and wanted to come to Tennessee, you would pass because he associated himself with Kiffin for a year? Yeah, I think you would somehow be able to look past that.I feel better that he chose LSU…,,, can’t really miss anybody that on purpose wants to associate with Kiffin. That character indicator means he was probably not a fit here.
I will hope he has a healthy but underwhelming stay down there with a really lousy ROI calculation.
That was what I was thinking about when I responded. Dobbs took several tough hits in that game and I swear I was afraid he would break in two. Hell no. He jumped right back up and got his team rallied. I only remember him obviously hurt when he took a shot to the ribs making a TD. He shook it off. It’s the fight in the dog, as they say. When Dobbs was first introduced to TN fans, which I believe was in a game against BAMA, I was shocked at what a beanpole he was at the time. After a offseason where he obviously had hit the weight room pretty hard I barely recognized him when he took the field. Gmac's 2025 stats on the UT website listed him at 6' 6" 195 lbs., and I fully except to see the same transformation for Gmac this upcoming season. If I don't, either he isn't taking his training serious enough, or our S&C program is still in shambles.
Hey, who are you calling those same people?you all can spin this however you want, but its always the same, everyone gets their guy except for Tennessee, who is always the first runner-up, and it will be the same people going "yeah, im glad we didnt pay him" who are saying "gotta fire heupel for not getting a QB" at the end of the year. it always is those same people
Getting into a peeing contest with crazy LSU boosters that just paid $54M to make Brian Kelly go away and committed to pay Kiffin $13M + big NIL money every year for 10 years is probably not a good idea unless Elon is town.Wondering if a big booster just stepped up and said screw that dude leaving in the middle of the night for Cali and now coming into Knoxvegas in the middle of the night to steal a recruit we want. Pay him more than they are willing.
