Iran

@EasternVol I'd like to hear your thoughts on this. Not looking for gotcha material. Even though we disagree on much I still respect your opinions/view.
I appreciate that. Other than the X reposts here by @MAD, the coverage I've seen highlights strong dissatisfaction with the economy, which is a train wreck, as the protesters' motivation, with little or no mention of calls for return of a Shah. My main sources are CNA (Channel News Asia), DW, France24 and the NYT.

This is encouraging then, an organic revolution. I want nothing to do with their politics, in so much as we are involved. Nothing good for us or them comes from it. Once the dust settles I wouldn't mind reaching out to see how we can help them build their economy and join in promoting their and the regions long term prosperity.

apparently there is an historic drought in Tehran, so much so that they are moving the government iirc. cant be helping matters.

Yeah, I watched a video about that several weeks ago. They have slowly ate away on a reservoir for two decades now and rain has been lighter than normal the past couple of years. It isn't even just Tehran, they are having problems across the nation.
