I read yesterday that Strategy owns c. 650,000 BTC. That's a heck of a statement.

MSTR is highly leveraged and not a widow or orphan equity. It trades at a discount to its Bitcoin holdings. But it needs to generate cash to service its debt and pay preferred shareholder dividends. If Bitcoin crashes to around $15,000 then MSTR would become insolvent.

High risk, high reward. The underlying business is only worth a small fraction of its Bitcoin holdings.

Oil is down 10-15% over past 2-3 months.

Haliburton is up 30-35%.

Almost like Wall Street knew this was going to happen.....

I dont think that was the angle here. Pretty clear this was an oil driven campaign....

Dont reallt think that this does much to oil prices long term but there will be definite winners and losers when it comes to oil infrastructure (SLB or HAL)

I own CVX and XOM so I'm not complaining, but I imagine this pop will fade away since very much is still up in the air and any infrastructure build-out in Venezuela is a longer-term story.
