2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

Two things:

Please cite in past years where @Ericvol2096 or any other insider has said we’re going to spend big in the portal. The only time we’ve spent big for a portal player was lance heard. And the result of that the last 4 years while not “spending big” is 11-2, 9-4, 10-3 playoffs and 8-4 (last game tbd).

Second thing, do you not realize that the class we closed with this year (7th with 289.28) is always 5th or 6th in recruiting rankings? Like in the history of 247 rankings, it is always 4-6th. If Utah didn’t pay Moa 1.3 mil out of the blue last minute then we finish 5th with 295.21, ahead of Ohio State and Georgia.

Third, i guess, please don’t associate Trevor Noah and the Vols ever again lol
Why are you tagging Eric? I didn't say anything about him. In fact, I know someone that chats with main TVC people daily. I don't have beef with Hunter.

My second favorite thing we do is the ol our recruiting number is usually xyz.

Its a cycle of getting hyped up about the next class (now it's 2027) and it will be !¡!¡THE BEST CLASS EVER!¡!¡. But I'm here to sober that up. For the last, however long, I've been here on VN... It's the same thing. Like a groundhogs day if you will. Ohio State, Alabama, UGA will get these cats enmasse (general recruiting). We do just enough to brush against them but ultimately, it's not enough. Texas tech will go in and over pay. We will mock them for it. And now they are a top seed. The floor is rising fast and we will meet the floor. But not the ceiling. Never have. Never will.

These are tales as old as time.

My thing with Mestemaker is GMac would have those same stats if he was at north Texas in the same system. So why pay Mestemaker when he has less eligibility remaining and less experience in our offense?
I hope GMAC is as good as we all want him to be, but at this point it’s only hope. I’m gonna trust Heupel to make the call. This is a big boy year for us coming up. We have a very good wide receiver unit coming back, solid at running backs, but I think our numbers were a little inflated this season and we could use a home run hitter . The o line should return some good pieces. Hopefully we bring in some difference makers on the defensive side of the ball and potentially be a CFP team next season .

Well, i tagged him because Eric is tied to Spyre..our NIL collective. And he’s one of these “insiders” that you claim is FOS.

If you don’t understand the rest of my response to your post then i can’t help you. Godspeed

Latest Nakos article doesn't tie us to any of the top money QB options below:

Arizona State QB Sam Leavitt
USF QB Byrum Brown
Cincinnati QB Brendan Sorsby
TCU Josh Hoover
Florida QB DJ Lagway
Iowa State QB Rocco Becht
Georgia Tech QB Aaron Philo

Obviously early in the process, but it appears that some of the insiders are going to be wrong on the "spending big for a QB" prediction.

Nakos is the same guy that got baited into thinking we interest in the UNLV kid.

Also keep an eye on Leavitt again imo. I think he’s option b if the price tag on Sorsby is something they don’t want to meet. After that I’d guess Hoover. If it gets past Hoover, GMAC might be starting next year.

He’s the player who had 2 catches in junk time this season that we decided to go to out of the timeout on the goalline v bama who got knocked off his route by a safety and the same player we tried again on 4th down on the goalline against somebody else and got hit in the face with the ball because he didn’t get his head around and wasn’t expecting it.
Ftr, I don’t blame him for either one. 2 of the poorest offensive playcalls we had all season.
Actually Bama play was to Kits. JVD was 4th down against OK I believe.

That second one was against Oklahoma.
