If these eight players really do leave the program and find other teams it would absolutely devastate Tennessee's volleyball program. I mentioned months ago that there could be trouble brewing at the setter's position. Mogridge and Stucky are way too good a player to be sitting as much on the bench as they did this season. But when you have an All-American ahead of you, what can you do except find another team.
Chapman must have fallen out-of-favor with the coaches as she played very little in the latter quarter of the season. Schnell was used as a server in the first half of the season but she too played very little at the end of the season. The loss of Humphrey would really hurt as she was only a redshirt freshman but I can understand her leaving also as she had limited playing time also.
After the team's disappointing loss to Utah State and early exit from the NCAA tournament and these players wanting to leave it is obvious that all is not well with the Lady Vols volleyball team and much reevalutation needs to be done.

Williams and Humphrey surprise me just a little. The rest do not at all. But then again, no one would surprise me given the culture of that program is often described as toxic with lots of gaslighting and dehumanizing. The newest addition to the coaching staff certainly did not help in that regard. We also have 6 incoming freshman (3 of which are middles) which may help explain Humphrey and grandberry’s decision. Regardless, I really wish the culture wasn’t so bad because I love volleyball and I think our program has such great potential. I imagine we’ll also add a few in the portal too. Until then, here’s to hoping that what I’ve heard about that program is not true.

Are any of the 6 incoming freshmen setters to make up for the two that are apparently leaving. I sure hope so. If not, maybe we can pick up a good one from the portal. We need a backup for Caroline Kerr.

Coach Eve looks stoic or has a resting B face at all times. Never once have seen her show much emotion. 8 players transferring out isn't a good look. Losing the 2 best players, plus 8 transfers, not sure UT will be good next season. Too bad thought UT was building a solid program. Just looked at 2026 recruiting rankings and UT isn't in the top 25. Vandy is listed at #11, 2nd year as a program. Texas has #1 class with UK 10, Vandy 11, UGA 12, Texas AM 18th, even Alabama at 21. No UT or UF.

Checked the press release on the incoming freshmen; none of the six are setters so we better be looking at the portal for a backup. I wasn't suggesting releasing Eve, just reevaluation of player personnel to see how we can better ourselves. I understand that players are going to leave if they don't get what they consider proper playing time. Eve had a stacked roster and that's just part of the business of college sports.

So glad to see A&M win that match. Nebraska found out what it would be like to play in the SEC every week. Their gaudy record meant nothing in the end. A&M has a long road ahead of them, however. They have to beat another #1 seed in Pittsburgh and then have to beat either Kentucky or Texas, both who they lost to earlier. A&M's win against Nebraska leaves no doubt who has the best volleyball conference in America, the same as in softball. SEC all the way.

Start bragging about beating a National power such as Nebraska on their home floor then the SEC juggernaut Texas gets their @$$ beat at home by the other Conference that brags they have best Volleyball in America...

That may be so but I still think Kentucky or Texas A&M will win it all. We shall see.
