Who do you guys think will be the starting QB for the bowl game? Nico started the Citrus Bowl in 2023 instead of Joe Milton. Do you think Heupel will go with Aguilar or give Merk or GMac a shot? I would like to see GMac get some real playing time if Aguilar doesn’t start, but I would guess Heupel would go with Merk if not Aguilar.

Milton was already looking at being drafted. I’m no scout but I don’t think JA has that luxury. I think Heup will play JA if JAs intent is to come back next year pending the lawsuit. I can only imagine that is JAs plan or he never would have filed suit. His best chance for money is coming back to UT for a mil or two in NIL. I think we will see JA start. I don’t like it for the future. It’s a wasted start if JA ends up not back at UT.

Really murky situation given the lawsuit.

Yeah and how did that work out?

If they sit JA out and he does get an extra season, he's likely to go in the portal and he'll get snatched up quickly. This ain't like the old days ya'll.

His lawsuit is not gonna be settled before the portal opens.

Remember-now only one portal in January.

Basically-Hsuoels gonna have to decide whether or not to commit to him for next season AND hope the lawsuit is successful.

One of our young guys needs to be under center next year. What is the point of having a bench full of 4 and 5 star QBs-and paying the associated NIL bills-and not playing them?

Since they’re going to 105 roster spots, id be willing to bet Heup keeps one open for his return, regardless of timing

Still doesn't solve the problem. Chances are, it's gonna be the summer before anything happens in the lawsuit-if not later

How you gonna handle spring practice if JA is still a question mark?

You give him reps or you give them to the younger guys in case the lawsuit fails?

Messy

100%. If one of those guys isn’t ready then we’re either recruiting the wrong people, or not developing the people we’re recruiting.

or Option #3. They are not what their stars say they are.
How many times we gonna claim that option before we think there might be an internal problem? We’ve had lots of highly touted QBs through the program in the last 5 years. 0 of them have hit. No doubt it happens, but at some point the common denominator might be worth looking at.

I assume he wont practice in the spring if the suit is still pending. Just a roster spot

And once again-far from optimal.

Everyone whining and complaining that the season did not live up to THEIR expectations-when they should be happy the wheels didn't fall off completely. We got lucky. Very lucky. And had a schedule which was meh.

Next year our schedule is a big ouch

Two years in a row if Aguilar not having spring practice

Just sounds like a recipe for disaster
