You're correct but this is 3 games in a row that Gillespie hasn't shown up, little concerning .

I give Ament a pass because he is a Freshman and his game is more directed towards NBA with all the spacing.

I think these early tough road games; Houston, Kansas, Syracuse, Illinois will pay dividends, particularly when it appears the SEC is a bit down this year. Plus Ament will get bigger and better by March…

I just see a team that when they’re clicking, is unbeatable. Sucks we have only seen them clicking once in 10 games…

Illinois came out of half playing WAY more physical. I don't understand why we didn't recognize that and respond in-kind early.

I think the whistles factored into that. The ref that called the immediate jump ball on the baseline called a series of ridiculous fouls on our guys. Dude was heavy with the whistle against us.

3 losses

Kansas- within 24 hours of beating a very good and physical Houston team

Syracuse- no JP Estrella and playing in a stupid football stadium

Illinois- extremely tall, physical, and much more mature than us. JP is still not 100%

All 3 losses were on the road too.


We need some rest and a game in TBA. I think we're gonna be fine but the past couple of weeks have been brutal. We've got 10 days off before Louisville comes to Knoxville. We look more complete when JP is healthy and I'm hoping he'll be close to 100% after this break.
