Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

You're crazy and if that's what folks think then he's for sure overrated.

Ryan Day
Kirby Smart
Curt Cignetti
Dan Lanning
Lane Kiffin
Mike Elko
Marcus Freeman
Kalen DeBoer
Kalani Sitake
Josh Heupel
Steve Sarkisian
Kyle Whittingham
Lincoln Riley
Dabo Swinney

That's just P4 coaches that are better I can think of off the top.
Dang, kinda put Heup close to the bottom like you almost forgot about him 😂

I'm so confused where you all are getting your Matt Campbell information. The Big 12 removed divisions in 2011 and there were no longer "division titles" to win in the regular season for an appearance in the title game.

Since 2011 the top 2 teams play each other, Iowa State has made 2 appearances and lost both times. The "regular season" title in both those years was given to both teams that appeared in the title game though.

Whatever. He’s been in first place atop the standings until a title game. They went 8-1 in 2020 while OU went 6-2. Beat OU during the regular season and then lost the title game. That’s huge for a place like Iowa State. Until the last 2 years, it was a conference with Texas and OU, two of the most successful programs in history of college football.

I’m sorry that conferences have 100+ teams in them now. With unbalanced schedules, it’s a mess. They tied in 2024.

He’s a solid coach.

Franklin realistically had everything set up there a few times over to be successful and would just crap the bed in prep and game day execution

2025 BCR 68%
2024 BCR 61%
2023 BCR 55%
2022 BCR 55%
2021 BCR 56%
2019 BCR 60%
2018 BCR 53%

in 2014 they were 21%

Franklin proved you could recruit there, build there

he just never put all the pieces together, and when he did have all the pieces, the moments were too big for him
Yeah but that's not that close to the Ohio States and Bammers of the world

And again, average QB play.

I do think he craps the bed though, just not convinced that's the only reason they didn't win a title

You stand a good chance to be disappointed. Thay came to Dallas a few years ago and everyone thought it was gonna be the best thing since sliced bread. Wrong !!!!!!

Their menu is as follows:
#1
#2
#3

I'm not kidding
Their menu is smart business. Their issue is that once they started franchising (which was when they expanded outside of California), their quality dropped.
