Really? Exactly what big games has he won at Iowa State? I'm not sure Iowa State has even ever played in a big game.
That's fascinating. What year did Matt Campbell win a conference championship at Iowa State?Brother he has won a conference championship at Iowa State. He’s beating Oklahoma when OU ran that conference. Multiple big games. lol I know some view points are “nothing matters outside the SEC” blah blah blah. But Iowa State is the equivalent of Vanderbilt for the Big 12 and he’s got that program to where their floor is 7 wins after tons of injuries too might I add. He’s really on had 1 stinker season in 23 or 22 I believe. It’s traditionally one of the worst P4 schools overall record wise.
I did just watch something on YouTube with Hubbs talking with the Nashville guys and he acknowledged that there was something going on. He basically said the kid has had trouble deciding and appeared to be second guessing his decision. He also said that Heupel and Pope had talked with many times in the last few days and he thought it would be resolved before long. He didn't give any opinion on what he would ultimately do. Just basically you have a kid that is having trouble making a big decision. TIFIWOn Bey: still rife speculation or any facts yet?
Blue bloods will always be blue bloods and everyone else will just try to keep up. The media will keep the blue bloods front and centerIf you cap it we just return to before with under the table payments that give certain schools more advantages (and unfair policing/punishment). At least this way its all out in the open.
I'd also put Campbell on par or better than Sitake and Elko. JMO. While I understand it's Indiana and agree that Cignetti is a good coach, I still can't take them seriously. Once again, they played 6 of th 7 bottom teams in the conference. Their schedule might have been slightly better than last year. They played no one OOC and will continue that in the next few years.I’d take Matt Cambell over the following right now without a second thought;
Dabo Swinney (washed)
Lincoln Riley
Kyle Wittingham (great coach but Cambells a bit better)
Steve never won a thing Sarkisian
Lane never won a thing Kiffin

They have significant resources. They can take the Vandy strategy from this season. Spend tons of money on lots of 4th/5th year transfers that are proven commodities.I can see Campbell not wanting to take a job where they missed literally an entire signing class. I get the transfer portal mitigates that, but still.
He's won the regular season twice. His first one was their first in 119 years. He has already broken their coaching record for wins.That's fascinating. What year did Matt Campbell win a conference championship at Iowa State?

It is a difficult place to win. I am not going to say he is elite, but he is a solid hire. I believe he could do more with more resources, especially in a conference like the Big 10.
