Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

On December 5, 1945, a U.S. Navy training mission known as Flight 19, consisting of five TBM Avenger torpedo bombers, vanished in an area latter dubbed The Bermuda Triangle. All 14 airmen were lost, and a subsequent rescue plane also disappeared with its 13-man crew, with no confirmed wreckage of the aircraft ever found.

Let’s assume the bey thing is real and he has every intention of flipping upon turning 18. Are we able to protect ourselves financially? Does anyone know how payments are made. ie what portion of payment would have been actually paid up front, if any.
They are not supposed to be paid until they actually enroll in school.

“A little above average” coordinators don’t let the 2025 Kentucky Wildcats score 34 points on nearly 500 yards of offense.
Yes they do. You can't cherry pick on game to define a team or a coordinator. In fact I'll wager and I don't gamble that you won't find one coach or coordinator who wasn't very unpopular or had a poor record and the fans called for their head, only later to be revered and receive legend status. A current example is Lame Kitten. USC stops the bus kicks him off and drives off and now he is first on the list of every major coaching search.
Fact is that Banks is the same this year as he was last year when we are an elite defense. We were an Arkansas loss( which can not be put on Banks.) from hosting a playoff with strong likelihood of winning at least 2 games.
I am objective and analyze coaches, players, and ball in general through the lens(on count of my eyes being so bad) of a coach. Most ballwatchers, google stat boys, and scoreboard watchers simply pick a position by way of google, statcast, and their favorite podcaster and once they have made their decree, will never drop that bone.
Many of those who have decided to hate Banks and have come out publicly declared him unfit will actually now root against him and the Vols just so their uninformed position won't suffer loss and they won't be ridiculed at work. Loser mentality that loses.

I am telling you with the level of corruption at Ole Miss and I'm sure Lame eagerness to be in it that they have pile of skeletons. Lame dont' care tho, HE'S MAKING 90 MIL.
Ole Miss letting all the skeletons out of the closet to make lane suffer for dumping them,
But actually shows their true colors.
They knew everything we are hearing and more but didn’t have a problem with it as long as he was their HC.

2024 was a make or break year for Tim Banks. That’s exactly why he was working without a contract for 2025. 2024 was great, I’ll give you that. But the rest of his body of work is AVERAGE, not above average, and certainly not below. If we want to be an average defense , who’s DC is an average play caller with elite Defenses every 5 years so be it! I personally Do not want that and think there’s plenty of great defensive minds available TODAY.

If you wash 2024 and 2025 out. I’m okay with that. Those are his two worst years. But, 2021-2023 was just meh football with a lot of questionably called games. But Tim Banks doesn’t have much to hang his hat on if we wash his best and worst years out. You’d think it would be his first year of coaching that I would wash out, nope year five…

Tim is not in the same situation as going into the last-off-season. He’s going into this season coaching for his life, like he was in 2024. And he doesn’t have 15 defensive linemen to rotate out going into next year. So he won’t be able to deliver pressure with 4 like he did in 2024. Look at what happened when we couldn’t get to the QB with 4 last year. We got crushed…. Because we couldn’t scheme to get other people home without leaving the middle of the field wide open. A common trend in a Tim Banks scheme.

The question now becomes, “is he allowed or deserving of a 2nd chance, and arguably a 3rd chance to steer the ship in the right direction?” For $2.1 million, which is an elite level DC’s cost (and what we will be paying Tim Banks next year). I believe there’s much better than we’re paying Tim Banks for. And if the defense looks exactly the same this year, Tim might get his boss onto a hot seat.

No one is getting comparatively better, we are all paying more for basically the same. LSU promises 25, auburn claims 30, every other school will match or up it by a couple mill. And fans get Hopefully because they think it has to make them better.

Yep - increasing the demand but not the supply. The winners here are the players who make it to college, who will make tons of money.

The losers include young children in inner cities whose broken families push them too hard to make a quick NIL buck. Lots of nasty stories are going to come out in the future of kids lifting weights at too early ages, dealing with mental health issues, or being taken advantage of by greedy family members.

This one is simple to me

He’s been here 5 years - his defenses have cost us some big games (Georgia 2025, South Carolina 2022, etc) - it’s time to move on

@RikidyBones was right: his defense is just a bad match with Heup’s offense.
