Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

There are plenty of teams that had DCs that didn't finish last or close to last in every meaningful statistical category in their conference. Tim Banks is a pathetic defensive coordinator. If he's so good, we'll see him take another job this year because I'm confident that Josh would like to upgrade. I guess we will see.
Would you pursue Wilcox? Might not be popular with his previous stint in his younger years but it would be a Saban move IMO. Grab a Head Coach to serve as a Coordinator or position coach while they transition out of a previous stop.

According to a rumor in the Legend Bey thread, @Glitch is the reason for all the drama. Typical jinx.
I barely post here anymore...because of crap like the Bey thread. We lose our minds over a moody angsty teenager's college decisions. Find someone else to be your fall guy.

If you watch CJH talk about Bey on the Mike Keith Show yesterday (Somewhere between 21-24 minute mark) it seems pretty genuine and makes comments that would be weird to make if Bey was just going to flip. He says something to the effect of "He got right with God and came to Tennessee". I would imagine he would just tell Keith in pre-production "Hey, we aren't going to talk about Legend Bey" if there was some issue going on. Common sense eludes to a lot of this is overblown and possibly even fabricated.

I think Wilcox is a good coordinator but I'm not sure he's a fit here. I wouldn't be against it though. There are plenty of good D coordinators that would come here. Me and the guys were talking about Muschamp. Not sure how I feel about that one either.

Let’s assume the bey thing is real and he has every intention of flipping upon turning 18. Are we able to protect ourselves financially? Does anyone know how payments are made. ie what portion of payment would have been actually paid up front, if any.

I was thinking the same thing this a.m. when it when John and Vince mentioned him being let go. I remember him having a strong stint here for what he had to work with.

I wasn't a fan of his antics but, honestly, it would be a great hire for our D!
