'26 GA LB Brayden Rouse (Tennessee)

Again, this defense was sooo much further away from being even decent than two starting CBs. Colton Hood replaced one of those and is talked as a Day 2 pick with Day 1 potential after his performance this year. Tyler Redmond performed admirably for a freshman and will be one of the better returning CBs in the SEC in 2026. There wasn't some massive drop-off at those two spots.

Every team we faced picked on Tyler. Don’t get me wrong, he got a lot better as the year went along.
You’re telling me with Gibson and McCoy on the field we give up as many third and forever?

Mostly, I think of depth, the mouse steps Hood and Redmond had to play versus if you had all four.
We got tired a lot in the third and fourth quarters.

I’m not trying to argue for this defense. I’m just saying I think injuries played a large roll.

Injuries played A role. How large is debatable. I'm not saying they played no part whatsoever.

I'm saying that there were much, much bigger issues and we didn’t exactly replace those two guys with walk-on bums from Hardin Valley.
