Again, this defense was sooo much further away from being even decent than two starting CBs. Colton Hood replaced one of those and is talked as a Day 2 pick with Day 1 potential after his performance this year. Tyler Redmond performed admirably for a freshman and will be one of the better returning CBs in the SEC in 2026. There wasn't some massive drop-off at those two spots.
Injuries played A role. How large is debatable. I'm not saying they played no part whatsoever.Every team we faced picked on Tyler. Don’t get me wrong, he got a lot better as the year went along.
You’re telling me with Gibson and McCoy on the field we give up as many third and forever?
Mostly, I think of depth, the mouse steps Hood and Redmond had to play versus if you had all four.
We got tired a lot in the third and fourth quarters.
I’m not trying to argue for this defense. I’m just saying I think injuries played a large roll.
