I really like this basketball team but wish Cam Carr had stuck around

Fair point. I actually give Barnes credit for identifying and getting those players. The frustrating part is he gives those players liberties he doesn’t give his freshman recruits.
Kennedy Chandler, Zakai Zeigler, Jayden Springer, Keon Johnson, Julian Phillips, John Fulkerson, and Grant Williams all say "hi" (and I probably missed some and that's only while at TN).

You claimed CRB doesn't give latitude to FR players...I gave examples where he did
I’m speaking to offensive minded players. My point being that Lanier and Knecht git more latitude for their defense (or lack thereof) than did others. I’m not debating whether Barnes has played freshmen. In fact that’s kind of my whole point. There’s always someone in the Barnes doghouse. I get that some of these players aren’t a good “fit,” but that’s a two way street.

So, your point seems to be that "someone" is always in CRB's doghouse and that he is partially to blame? And, I presume, you believe this is worse under CRB than college XYZ?

Guess I am confused...players everywhere, to one degree or another, are expected to play they way they are being coached and integrate into the program's culture. If they can't/won't do that then it's best for everyone if they move on which has happened under CRB but I don't see it as an issue...our program has never been in a better position on any level you want to evaluate it.

Edit: No player is bigger than the program which definitely applies to Cam Carr - he is having success - I wish him well

I think both things can be true. Yes, we are experiencing the best years of UT basketball, and yes, Barnes has some blind spots that have kept an 800+ wins coach from reaching another F4. That said, I hope he coaches as long as he wants.

Specifically, what are those blind spots? IOW, what do you know that Rick doesn't know? Not trying to be a smartass. Just wondering

Ok...so your whole point is that CRB isn't perfect.

Thanks Captain Obvious

Currently? His offense. As we’re seeing tonight. It’s like dental surgery. Painful to watch. He’s had some good offensive players the past couple of years, but I think his offense sucks. Sadly, it looks like the defense sucks as well.

Also, gassing his trams down the stretch.

🤣 Look forward to your foolish bashing this season

He’s averaging 33 mpg, 22.7 ppg on 56% FG shooting, 52% 3 point FG, 79% FT, and almost 6 rebounds pg for Baylor.

Hard to question much of anything Barnes has done here, but I felt like Carr and Tobe Awaka were two players that never got the minutes they deserved and would’ve been solid contributors had they remained Vols.

Awaka was overrated by many here.

He was too small and had no midrange scoring ability as a post player compared to our other bigs.

Do you feel it your civic duty to run to Barnes defense if anyone discusses his issues??
LMAO... You aren't very good at this

Pls cite where I defended CRB in this exchange (hint: you can't)

I started off by genuinely trying to understand the point you were making but that proved futile (CRB gives more latitude to some players & he has blind spots is all I got...truly insightful).

We're done here. GBO
