Bowl opponent thoughts. I don't think we've ever played Illinois or Washington. That would be fun. We already have a future home and away scheduled with Washington (battle of the riverfront stadiums), so I think Illinois is the ticket. Has anyone seen them play this year?

I was originally hoping for USC or Michigan but I don't think we get that high in the Big 18 pecking order now. Just not Iowa: tired of spanking them.

Michigan is way too good/physical for my taste. USC has one of those terrific WRs destined for the NFL so I got no interest there.

The Illini sound interesting. Relatively under the radar. Don't know of any studs on their team. Big 10 so maybe they're slow and not so tough? A weaker and poorly coached Iowa is what I'm hoping for.

Not a thread per se, but there's names being posted when they enter and rumors of interest that usually pop up. ON3 usually has a master list of the best portal prospects overall and by position. In my mind, the portal is far more impactful for the upcoming season than HS recruits. Plus there's no guarantee that those HS recruits will be on campus for more than a year anyway. For us old guys, this is a crazy new world of college sports.

Still early in the process. CJH will trim some fat even if they're 4* players..

FB did it for us. Both D-line guys have struggled to get playing time. The ones posting it made it out like we were loosing major contributors.

It depends upon the individuals. Clearing guys out to make room for upgrades is progress. Losing an important guy is bad.

Upgrades are always welcome. We need quality depth so injuries don’t derail us.
