Final group drawings for next Summers World Cup in Soccer, do you think the USA ends up in the group of death..?

We’re somewhat insulated from the toughest possible group stage matches because we’re seeded, so we can’t draw the likes of Spain, Argentina, France, Brazil, Germany, etc etc.

But we can absolutely draw Erling Haaland and other assorted Norwegians from pot 3, say Morocco or Colombia from pot 2, and then probably Italy is the hardest possible thing that can happen in pot 4. That’d be about the roughest draw we could get.

I’d like to see us draw Egypt because then it’d be Bob Bradley’s old team vs Bob Bradley’s old team.

Guaranteed/easy win. Gotta flush the bad taste from the Vandy game and get to 9 wins. Just looks better.

Plus, I suspect we'll have our fair share of guys skipping the game. Don't want the youngsters getting discouraged before next season.

Where do you go to follow the portal? Is there a thread about that on VN?

Not a thread per se, but there's names being posted when they enter and rumors of interest that usually pop up. ON3 usually has a master list of the best portal prospects overall and by position. In my mind, the portal is far more impactful for the upcoming season than HS recruits. Plus there's no guarantee that those HS recruits will be on campus for more than a year anyway. For us old guys, this is a crazy new world of college sports.
