Drop Georgia Tech

With 9 SEC games next year Danny should drop and replace the GT game. Scheduled a cupcake for the replacement. Some of the other SEC schools are doing the same. I know Bama just dropped USF and replaced them with Chattanooga. Give yourself a level playing field with rest of the conference.
USF is not a P4 team and Bama just moved them out and scheduled East Carolina who is better than USF anyway at this point

Hope not. Awesome venue off North Avenue named after a Kingsport and UT legend.
This. I will be livid when they move it to MCB. Why would we want a college football game moved to an NFL dome? Could we at least try to salvage a small portion of what’s left of is good and pure ? Not playing it Im a stadium named after a Vol would be lame. Also, with Tech’s history in the SEC, I want to see it played there .

Don't get me wrong, I love Bobby Dodd also...been there a few times. And overall I hate neutral site games, however it in this case it might allow for more Tennessee fans to be able to see the game (including myself).

For all their bull$hit from Petitti and Cignetti in the offseason and Lanning a few weeks ago, they better sack up and get that Power 4 requirement. Better yet, let’s just settle this on the field w/ a SEC/B1G challenge. I will continue to beat this drum
If they aren't going to add it, then the SEC should drop it. What is the SEC getting out of it?

Dumb, when we’re scared of Georgia Tech we have hit rock bottom. GBO

Perhaps today I am not scared of the Ramblin' Wreck however, we have to get all the kids on campus (before some of them pull Nico's on us) and get our asst coaches to sign extensions. The amount of variables out there today are overwhelming, so certainly possible that Ga Tech becomes a team we worry about. GBO

Who says that? We are even more suspect next year.
People better wake up and take notice of GA tech. They are well coached and fundamentally sound. Iirc, their QB returns next season along with an elite defense. The game is at GA Tech stadium too- not Merceds Benz. I think they will be a 1-3 point favorite .

Idk how good tech will be next year. I think l they'll be OK, but losing king is going to hurt them bad. My brother is kinda worried about them being subpar next year.

you do not remember correctly.

Haynes King is gone, 6th senior.
and their defense is on par with ours, its bad. 89th in yards per game, and 71 in points per game. their defense was the reason they lost games and struggled so much at the end of the year.

They are losing 18 starters or back ups, at minimum. and those back ups are backing up another guy who is leaving.
Qb1, Rb1, TE1, TE2, RG1, RG2, LG1, Slot 1, WRX1, WRX2.
NT1, NT2, DT1, DT2, CB1, CB2, SS1, FS1.

its going to be a rough year for GT next year.

the next QB is pretty good, but not shifty like King was. King was their entire running offense, RB1 was a good player, but teams keyed off on him. Tight ends were typically their best receivers and they are gone with a lot of the top WRs. Hard to count out a Brent Keys O-line, so I would read into that much.
Defense at pretty much every level is going to be gutted.

The Big Ten does not require it, although some programs still do. Ohio St, Oregon, and Michigan all did this year. Indiana did not.

Cignetti made a point about "scheduling like the SEC" with the joke of a schedule they had this year. What burns my ass more than anything is the idea purported by Big 18 schools and the national media that they are equal to the SEC regarding conference play. At least 2/3 of the big 18 is dreck.

The ACC championship game is being played by Duke and Virginia. GT wasnt even good enough this year to be in that game. If we arent talented enough to beat them next year, Huepel should be fired before he gets on the bus.

I just don’t believe Georgia Tech is actually anything more than Haynes King. They lost to NC State, barely beat Boston College, and needed the refs help to beat Wake Forest. I think it’ll be another Syracuse.

I get we’re all negative after the Vandy game, and I am well aware that the 2026 schedule is hellacious compared to 2025, but Georgia Tech is nothing to be afraid of. And I’m far from a sunshine pumper before anyone screams at me.
