Bama is still playing Florida State out of conference next year, but they moved the USF game to 2032. So Bama is still playing 10 P4 teams. We however, if we did as you suggest, would be p*ssing out to greater degree. With 9 SEC games next year Danny should drop and replace the GT game. Scheduled a cupcake for the replacement. Some of the other SEC schools are doing the same. I know Bama just dropped USF and replaced them with Chattanooga. Give yourself a level playing field with rest of the conference.
What does the big ten do? Serious question. I don't know. What I do believe is that the schools in the SEC have a much harder row to hoe at this point in time so I'd hope they also have a P4 requirement. If not, the SEC should most definitely change that rule. The SEC is requiring its members to play a P4 team in the non-conference.
Based on what? Georgia Tech is pretty damn suspect w/ 99% of their offense being gone. Meaning Haynes King is goneWho says that? We are even more suspect next year.
The Big Ten does not require it, although some programs still do. Ohio St, Oregon, and Michigan all did this year. Indiana did not. What does the big ten do? Serious question. I don't know. Not saying we don’t win, but he’s putting it as one.Based on what? Georgia Tech is pretty damn suspect w/ 99% of their offense being gone. Meaning Haynes King is gone
We have to play a power 4 opponent every year. Just like every ACC team, maybe Big 12 team. Now it’s time to for the B1G to nut up and require the same for their league. Especially after the all bs their coaches have been talking .
Steve Sarkisian said as much this week - even called IU out on them scheduling the likes of Old Dominion and Kennesaw State this year. What does the big ten do? Serious question. I don't know. For all their bull$hit from Petitti and Cignetti in the offseason and Lanning a few weeks ago, they better sack up and get that Power 4 requirement. Better yet, let’s just settle this on the field w/ a SEC/B1G challenge. I will continue to beat this drumThe Big Ten does not require it, although some programs still do. If you want to avoid competition then go join the Sunbelt or OVC. That seems to be where most of our wins come from anyway. With 9 SEC games next year Danny should drop and replace the GT game. If I didn't know better, it almost seems they are trying to limit the number of SEC teams in the playoffs. However, there's serious money involved so that's not the case. Only leaves one answer....the folks making these decisions for the SEC are stupid.Steve Sarkisian said as much this week - even called IU out on them scheduling the likes of Old Dominion and Kennesaw State this year.
B1G is a 9 game schedule, but NO mandate on P4 OOC opponents...IU played ODU, K St, and Indiana State.
