Dude. You are becoming one of them.Unpopular opinion:
Heupel is not the QB whisper we make him out to be, evidence:
-Hendon Hooker was already on the roster when Heup got here, Heup still brought in Milton and started milton over him until he got hurt, he essentially lucked into Hooker
-Milton was average
-Tayven Jackson: bust
-Nico: Bust
-Merk: likely transferring, therefore bust
-joey: decent, just very sporadic
GMac: AP makes it sound like he wont be the starter next year, essentially said on a pod that the QB for next year isnt on the roster yet
Brandon: ?
Darnell Wright is one of the best RTs in the league. He's about to get PAID.Checking box scores from nfl games.
So tired of our VFLs being complete non-factors in the league.
I mean how do you get battle-tested and experienced older players if not playing the unproven young guys?Another day, another rant from Smyrna about playing unproven freshmen and sophomores over battle-tested and experienced older players.
Its going to be tough next season, I dont think the fanbase can take it. I think hes a good coach, but hes gotta make some serious moves. The entire defensive position coaches need to go. Idk about Banks, we have improved every season until this one. He also has to make serious moves in the portal. With all the coaching changes going on in the sec, we should be digging in the portal hard.
I would tend to agree but we actually upgraded at QB. Nico was not good here and he has not been good at UCLA. We’re a top offense in the league now and second to last defensively. It’s obvious why we can’t take the next step.Let's try to be reasonable people. We lost our starting qb from a playoff team in January. We replaced him with a qb who was rejected for our old qb. Realistically we probably had no business winning more than 6 or 7 games. Joey was a great stop gap but he lost us some games. He ain't Joe Burrow and no reasonable person could expect him to more an emergency stop gap.

Trey Smith is one of the best Gs in the league.
Byron Young is top 10 in sacks in the NFL.
JJ is doing well for San Fran. He'll get a nice payday this off-season.
Pearce is doing well as a rookie. Lott was doing well before tearing his ACL.
We don’t have those funds unless you cut George and some others loose. We are not an endless supply of funds. We spend well but we can’t afford $3 million Joey, $1-2 million Faizon, and $500-1million for George. Even if George left, you would have to spend likely a decent amount. I would rather ride with $3 million total on QB without Joey and an extra $2 million to spend on defense. Otherwise, we will look the same next year as this year.I would be willing to bet we have more than that to spend.
Regardless, we're going to have to add a portal QB if JA leaves. It's just a fact. Maybe not a 2 million plus portal QB, but there is zero chance we are riding into 2026 with 2 scholarship QBs. And I doubt whatever QB we seek is going to be a Navy Shuler or Gaston Moore sort of QB.
Seeing as QB is the most important position on the field, giving Joey a couple million to run it back with a year in this system under his belt, I can't imagine anyone else being a better fit in 2026.
Who is wanting that?
Are people on twitter posting it?
That’s crazy. I haven’t seen one person in the forum ask for a coaching change except for the defensive staff. So that must be who you’re referring too.
We were literally going to spend that much had Nico stayed. We don’t have those funds unless you cut George and some others loose. We are not an endless supply of funds. No we’re weren’t.We were literally going to spend that much had Nico stayed.
What bugs me the most is I've seen Heupel mold his offense in these 5 years around his talent and around the adjustments opposing coaches have been making to his system. He's not been perfect but he's not stuck in his ways.
Banks I can't say that for...you can pull up year 1 situations and I bet he's running the same personnel and plays against it in year 5.
