It would be absolutely disastrous for UT to lose Heupel at this point in the carousel. Heupel has his flaws but it would leave UT stuck between a rock and a hard place.
It would be the same hire as if we fired him the first game of the season. Young, relatively unknown coach with an innovative offense that is a proven winner.

This coaching carousel we're having this end of season is why I never get mad at Head Coaches that leave my favorite team in College or teams in Pro Sports. It's a business, just like I don't get mad when players leave for other schools... It's a business now, these days kids are just a numbered jersey on the field ...

Every time Kiffin leaves a town it's one step ahead of a mob.
Except at USC, BAMA...

He's like the clap. A moment of pleasure, followed by some of angered surprise. But then a lifetime of relief that it's gone.

(Or so I've heard...)

Ole Miss got a bad case of the Kiffin Drip, but after the pain of diagnosis and treatment, they will be just fine long term with lessons learned and an embarrassing story to tell.

It isnt that he's left these programs. Its clearly how he did it. I dont know if you could have chosen a worse way to handle things, had a monkey reached in a hat to draw it out.

Anyone saying Mike needs to transfer don't know ball. You seen him drop a couple bad passes, sure? Did you see the impactful blocking, his route running, how he is as a teammate, his potential in this offense, some nasty catches he did have? You want him gone? That's about stupid. Our recruits should be allowed to have human mistakes without us calling for his head and making these kids feel like they're not wanted here.

I understand Boo's situation bc of his personality & his decisions during the season.

Lift Mike up, he doesn't deserve to be shunned and hope that he transfers. He is a good player and will be for another team if you push him away.
Also ignores that Staley also dropped passes early in the season then cleaned that up. Brazzell dropped a few that you'd normally expect him to make.

Mike's only bad drop that I remember is the Vandy drop. Maybe he had a walk-in TD on a deep ball early in the season that I'm fuzzy on. But the way the season started I never would have thought he'd get 750yds this season.

Kid's young. Has a lot of ball left to play, hopefully in orange.

I don't know, bruh.
Having spent quite a bit of time in the Far East as a young Marine, this post sure sounds like empirical knowledge to me. 😁

Only messing with you.
