Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

His most recent history does not prove anything that you think it does.

AUb’s offense got significantly better the second he was fired. Too much golf, too little football. The game has passed him by.

And I’m sure those HS girls were lying. Prob just really great dude overall.
I care about what he can help us do and that’s win. He has plenty of valuable experience that immediately upgrades our staff.

Agree with this Parker guy. Dillingham would be someone to watch for UT. Also still think Matt Campbell would be good at a big school.

The Parker dude fell for the sock's cheap attempt to generate engagement. These people are paid for engagement. It's an irrelevant discussion to have IMO.

He’s better than everyone on our offensive staff outside Heupel. Think what you want about him that’s fine. And we aren’t smart enough to go get staff like him anyways so this is dumb. You can say whatever you want but his history proves you wrong and our offensive staffs history proves me right. Hes an immediate upgrade.
I think you might be making Freeze better than he is in reality. I personally don’t think he’s an upgrade at all. Did you watch Auburn play this year? Their offense was terrible.

Lmao....are you stupid? Yes they will. They're 7th and will probably move up atleast one spot with TAMU losing. They're safely in.
Keep in mind you’re basing this off what the landscape currently looks like. Let’s wait until conference championship weekend. If pandemonium reigns, OM is on the chopping block for the bigger programs like Bama and ND.

After watching the Brooks Austin bit...so I know a lot of talk about the D's stats over Banks tenure...

Year-by-year PPG rankings:
'21: 90th -- first year of Heup....nuff said
'22: 36th -- Hendon, Hyatt, etc. - solid D squad - Byron Young, Jaylen McCollough, Aaron Beasley, Tre Flowers, Banks, Big O, Roman, Baron) - offense blew people out, defense wasn't asked to win games
'23: 23rd -- MIlton - O stepdown with lot less tempo, defense didn't have to deal with tempo issues. Pearce balled, Baron, ONL, McCollough, Beasley, Bryson, JJ, Kamal
'24: 7 -- Nico - O continued slower pace...rushing game dominated....McCoy had his breakout, Will freaking had Brooks 4 INTs, Pearce still balled despite more focus & double teams, Josephs, Eason, Moi, Tyre, etc.
'25: 92 -- Joey - lost McCoy & RG3 for basically whole year, rushing stepped back...Boo issues...Lots of other injuries (Moi - 3+ games, Hobbs - 4 games, Carter - 2 games

All that to say...Is defensive progression for Banks' first 4 year really due to Banks or was it more-so a result of circumstances?

offense was great in '22
tempo was down in '23 & '24
rushing game was great in '22-'24
and lots of NFL players in '22, '23, & '24....

Idk...

According to Ole Miss insiders all of their defensive staff is staying while most of their offensive staff is leaving. Saying the only offensive guys who may stay are QB and RB coaches.

I saw Neal McCready say earlier that Weiss Jr hasn't agreed to leave yet and that Ole Miss is trying to pay him enough to get him to stay. We'll see what happens. I would feel zero loyalty toward Kiffin though. He doesn't inspire any.

They did say this. Kiffin wants Weiss Jr to go with him but said Ole Miss is trying to work out a way to keep him as OC.
