He did the first few here. Something happened middle of last year up till now
This, why isnt he the go for broke, balls to the wall guy anymore.

IMO the conference said something to him about the tempo, remember how upset refs used to get, and how they couldnt keep up and were constantly stopping play to move the chains.

If, in fact, what is holding Josh back from making staff changes is his experience being fired from Oklahoma, he’s got to get over that.

Josh, what made your termination at Oklahoma an unjust travesty is that you were doing your job well, but were fired by your alma mater and former head coach as a sacrifice so Stoops could keep his underperforming brother on staff.

You replacing some staff members here for not doing their jobs well is not the equivalent of that. It won’t make you a hypocrite; it won’t make you a bad or disloyal guy; it will make you a responsible steward of the program you were hired to lead.
Or, Coach Heup .....

just do this..... adkjks.gif*I'm not saying I condone this type of behavior, but I understand

I liked him and I’d like entering year 6 with a returning starter at QB versus breaking in a new one. I think we need one more bridge year to get ready for Faizon Brandon. I’m not sure GMac is the answer over Joey

I am good if he wants to come back at a reasonable price so we have $$ to upgrade other positions. He just needs to know there will be a QB competition…the starting job isn’t guaranteed. FWIW our NIL pays a lot more than a fireman’s salary.

the older i get, the less and less i am such a die hard vol fan. i get more and more apathetic. i still watch but dont get angry. win or lose it is what it is. average 6-8 wins a year, a crappy bowl game and more of the same the following year.
It’s maturity not apathy.

When we hired Heupel I thought he was a fierce competitor.

But he isn’t. He doesn’t have a killer instinct and he has shown to be soft in critical areas.

I can't pinpoint when, but something happened at some point last season to change him. He went for it on the 4th down from our own ten yard line against Florida last season. I don't endorse that decision (even though we did convert), but it's like ever since then, he's been super conservative. I thought it was might just be him deciding to lean on his defense last season since the offense was such a struggle, but it seems like more than that now. Very odd.

Get WiFi out of the stadium.
Lower prices so fans that are diehard will get in.

Retain these young kids you let play this year and portal in some safeties/star.

We have a lot of talent coming in and coach did a lot with the offense given what happened this offseason. The ship can get righted, but will it? We will see.

I will say, personally OL was better than expected this year. They got a bit snake bit to end the year with injuries…but considering we only returned 1 starter & brought in 3 first year bodies they did well most the year.

We shouldn’t need to bring in OL portal players every offseason, but may just be how this new era is. I’d love to see that entire group return, another year together and they could look elite next season.

RB, need to see better recruitment there, this offense should be attracting 4/5 stars easily.

WR, Pope off the hot seat with how they’ve played this year & how he’s recruiting.

TE great recruiting…I think scheme doesn’t utilize them enough passing the ball.

Defense, I’d honestly be fine with a brand new DC & he brings an entire staff if he wants.

I think it will be better next year.

Keep in mind, we just played a generational QB. Pavia did this to a lot of teams.

The defense needs changes, but ill let Heup make those decisions.
