What am I missing in a harder schedule? Pavia was a one off... Kentucky stinks, USC is going to lose guys to portal...GT will not have Haynes King...Auburn who knows... Arkansas who knows...I see Texas, Texas A&M, LSU and Bama....as 4 very tough games but it is up there with Oklahoma, Bama, UGA and makes my skin crawl saying this but Vandy...this year


We also have to remember one thing...when we lost That QB kid to the portal, we were staring very easily a 6-6 or 7-5 season in the face... Aguilar was very much a decent player for us and what it did show us with an accurate and athletic QB; Heupel has the offense to win games... I think with a decent athletic QB we win OU and UGA pretty handily...I like the chances going into n xt hear

Good lord. You aren’t taking what I’m giving you. It’s not worth the overt optimism tonight. We are in Y5 and got blown out by three TDs to Vandy. That’s inexcusable and next year I’m seeing nothing that’s giving me the confidence we can do better than 6-6 or 7-5. If you do, good luck to you. I’m not saying Heupel has to go, but man there’s some tea leaves there that worry me.

Well we lost....all in all a fairly good season. We had some bad breaks, a few missed opportunities and some very memorable moments. Now comes the tough part....We must see if CJH has the ability to cut loose with some of the staff. I think without some positive changes on the defense we will never get to the next level as far as Nation Championships go. The Dores proved two things today 1) Our defense is woefully lacking in the Defensive Back Field and overall speed. 2) They just gave EVERY team in the SEC the game plan to stop our offense in certain situations. These are challenges that really must be addressed.....if not what we saw this year is about what we will be getting.....not bad but certainly not what we desire.

We have the more talented players. They have the better coaching staff. We were outcoached and outplayed today.

Much more on the line for them. A playoff spot. Vols came out like they had nothing to play for and didn’t want to be out there.

That’s on the coaches. Very disappointing. Changes need to be made on defense.

I get it’s hard to think about based on what we just witnessed but literally any outcome is possible for next year. Including winning a sh*t ton of games.

Marco, I’ve always liked and respected you. But I don’t need the warm and fuzzies and all is grand tonight. We lost by 21 points to Vanderbilt at home on senior night with what appeared to be zero effort on both sides of the ball and from our coaching staff. If that’s not sending alarm bells to you or anyone else in Vol Nation, then I got nothing else to tell you.

Hell, we went 8-4 this year and I don’t think Joey is that good. But the schedule gets much tougher next season. Does Heupel want to hitch his job security on a freshman QB? Not sure, but I know I’d be circling the NIL wagons to get a one year transfer.

Welp guys, it's been a fun season. I'll be back in the spring to explain to our toothless fans why a football team that's 50% freshman was never going to make the playoffs and how the NCAA sanctions are still impacting recruiting today.

Thanks for the good times, but I've gotta go study for finals. Happy holidays and go vols

No reason to feel or get uncomfortable... 8-4 is a terrific year after all the drama this season and pre season.

A 10th win in a bowl after winning in the Swamp would have been terrific, all things considered. 8-4 after beating no one is just good.

How many were jumping for joy when we settled for Heupel? Now we got some on here trying to convince us he’s irreplaceable after going 8-4 and getting blown out by Vandy at home.
G-5 John might be their Heupel, so everything could be great for em in a couple years.

When we hired Danny White I looked at the guys he had hired in his history so I was really excited about Danny White. Heupel wasn't my favorite candidate but again, I had looked at Danny White's track record and I also looked at Josh Heupel's at that point. I felt pretty good about it. I'm not sure how people feel about it tonight. I still feel pretty good. I said earlier this week that this game was setting up for Vandy because they are the national buzz and are in the playoff hunt. Plus Pavia's mom whores herself out to SEC officials. I made that up. I have to state that I made that up. But it shouldn't sound believable.

I don't think he's irreplaceable, but you are crazy if you want to jump into this coaching search pool this year. He has to make changes this off season or he will not be here much longer, period. Last years defense was all our D line and Mcoy, not banks scheming. 4/5 years his defense has been bad. No more excuses for him . Special teams needs fixing and Strength/cond needs to up its game. Just sick of it.
