Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I really hope Heupel and this staff have these checks written all over the football facility and are talking about them to the team all week. I want to see us come out with our hair on fire and balls to the wall all game.
This is the last regular season game and the last home game for our seniors. This is an Old Testament game. Grid your loins, burn the ships and keep scoring on these fools until the final second!!

@butchna which players off this list gets nominated into NFL HOF this time around?

Edit the CB's has Darren Woods on whom should've got in last year.

I think.

Brees
Witten
Fitzgerald
Woodson
Suggs
Richmond Webb( very underrated OL for the Dolphins)

If that is the criteria then there wouldn't be a list besides Neyland, maybe Bryant (doubtful) and McCay (Doubtful) and coaches from the 50's and prior.

Fulmer, Saban, Osbourne, Switzer, Urban, Jimmy Johnson all cheated and paid players to come to their schools. Some, like Saban, had their ties all through the SEC and NCAA and that made them look the other way and into the smaller schools because they were too big.
The difference is, Saban was allowed to cheat and they enforced the rules for the most part. He had an advantage over most.

So are we going to add anymore recruits to the '26 class before next week? Or are we going to lose anyone? Saw Moa is visiting Michigan (ugh!).

Where's @Ericvol2096 ? Got any news nuggets??

You want to see something sad about Andy football??
Pull up a video of the 1998 UT-Vandy game, its senior day at Vandy. The stands are packed 70-80% Tennesse fans in Orange when the Vanderbilt seniors come out. I’ve always wondered what was going through their minds that day.

Good player but already talking s***..🤨

I keep seeing people post this as if he just said it which means you obviously either completely missed him saying this before the season kicked off or you forgot about it.

Maybe it's being pushed back out because Pavia hasn't actually said anything inflammatory to this point. I mean, yes, then, but he's on a National Podcast selling Vanderbilt.

Jimmy Johnson might be on just the "football" coach Rushmore... to win a Natty in college then win 2 super bowl championships with the Cowboys being you basically were the HC that built that team...impressive stuff

Pete Carroll is also a hell of a coach. 83.6% in college with 2 Nattys, 1 SB and 57.1% for 19 years in the NFL is also pretty damn good stuff.

Pete Carroll is an immensely better coach than Nick Saban for these reasons.

Sorry Gumps.

It’s because nobody cares about Vandy and we are just now paying attention to their bum potato head QB and skanky team mom.

Vandy normally gets beaten, blown out in some cases, by those teams that they've beaten. I know South Carolina, LSU, and Auburn have issues, but those rosters are still infinitely more talented than Vandy. They also held their own against Texas in Austin, again against an infinitely more talented roster. A "typical" Vandy team probably still beats South Carolina this year but loses to LSU, Mizzou, and Auburn. They'd be 6-6 right now.

Pavia is undoubtedly the straw that stirs their drink, and I'm curious to see if Lea can keep their good run of play going after he leaves. But saying "he isn't a good coach - he hired a guy who brought in a really good player" is a non sequitur. Hiring good staff members is a huge part of any HC's job.
LSU and auburn don’t even have coaches, South Carolina doesn’t either unless you want to call Beamer a legitimate coach. Texas was up 34-10 going into the 4th quarter, seriously let off the gas

They still have a fraction of the talent as those other schools. There's no good reason Vanderbilt should beat South Carolina by 3 possessions, especially in Columbia.
