This year

Let him lose these two and see what happens. Who have we beat this year.? Didn’t forget those years. Don’t win out and don’t get a good portal QB and u will be the one drinking
I don't drink and wouldn't start for two more losses, but I'm made of tougher stuff than that. No one should feel THAT bad if we lose out. It's a subpar year if that happens, sure. Coach will need to look at things in the off-season, for sure. Coaches and teams have tough years, it's repeats of those that they start getting reevaluated. You're sounding like you've watched Coach have multiple sub-six win seasons. Premature, brother.

Long story short, we have 2 more games to see what plays out.

As for the question as to who we have beat, we have beaten a few cupcakes, syracuse, and a few SEC teams. We beat lower SEC teams and lost three SEC teams that are currently playoff bound. And we have managed to pull off 7-3 with a defense that is 88th in total D. Yes, the mistakes in those games were frustrating, but I remember when we were clawing for a bowl game those ugly years. Heupel has moved us past that.

Yeah, we're not title bound. But look at the teams below us, we're thankfully not anywhere close to that yet, either. Let's appreciate what we have and remember that it could be a lot worse, is all I am saying.

For better or worse, UT must win both games. You can look at this season both ways,
yes, we lost to 3 teams heading to the CFP. At the same time, we have not beaten a team
with a winning record from what I have read (have not confirmed this)

I support Heuple but if he goes 7-5, then he will definitely be on the hot seat next season, deservedly so.
All this conjecture can be avoided by winning the next two games.

Most Vol fans want us to be in the CFP every year. Some Vol fans demand that we are to be actually competitive ie., at least one win in the CFP every year.
If we end the season with losses to Ga, Ala and OU we will have satisfied virtually none of our fans.
If we end the season with losses to Ga, Ala, Ou, Fl and Vandy, no one will be satisfied .

A huge number of major schools have/are looking for a new coach.
Should we be discussing replacing Josh now?

So....... if we lose to Florida in the swamp, where we have not won in 20 years. And we lose to a team with a Heisman candidate as QB and in the top 15...Huepel is on the hot seat. 🤣 🤣 🤣 All three losses so far are by top 10 teams playoff bound.....JH sucks!;)🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm not saying he should be on the hot seat, but this comes across as a built in excuse. At what one point should a reasonable person expect him to win those games and even the ones against the three playoff teams he's lost

I want Coach Heupel to win! But it’s his team and he is responsible for the product on the field.

For sure. I have no issues with this and I agree. I just think it is really early to jump right to hotseat talk, even if he loses out.

I hope he makes changes on the defensive staff in the off-season. What scares me on that is he has never fired a coordinator or positions coach as a head coach citing preferences for staff stability. At least, that is what I have found researching it.

If CJH loses to Florida and candy in year 5 there is no way anybody could say with a straight face that this guy deserves to be the head coach of a university that has 100k plus seated stadium and gozillian dollar facilities. If he loses the two games, his seat should be so hot next season that he would think his hemorrhoids are the size of grapefruits.
We're playing in a stadium we haven't won in in 23 years tonight and Vandy is gonna be favored over us and a playoff team if they beat us. This team really suffered missing our 2 starting corners all year. Just need to regroup and come back stronger next year. We go 0-2 and CJHs seat isn't even getting warm. He's earned some grace turning this dumpster fire around.

Man I know and I have to remember that we have been spoiled by watching Kirby and Saban but we’ve got to start beating the teams that we are supposed to beat or we will never sniff a championship. With our starting corners, we beat Georgia but this is year 5 for him. We need to be taking care of business. So if next year we lose to Georgia Alabama Florida, where’s your optimism?

It really hits me at strange that next week, Tennessee will be trying to ruin Vanderbilt’s season and Texas will be trying to do the same to the Aggies, not the other way around.
