Kiffin to LSU?

This won't happen, but if I were Kiffin, I'd take the FSU job over LSU or Florida. It has all the advantages of those two schools, but instead of the SEC gauntlet, you play a weak ACC schedule, with just enough strong opponents to justify making the CFP. The path is so much easier at FSU than it is at either LSU or Florida (especially Florida).

Knox Kiffin just won another game as starter for Oxford HS last night in the playoffs.

I find it very hard to believe that Lane is gonna uproot his son from a very stable high school situation for Knox’s final 2 years to develop under Cutcliffe.

The coach that left us high and dry that started our descent into the desert going to one of our biggest rivals.
That’s fair. From a UT perspective though, it wouldn’t matter if Kiffin is elite at Florida or LSU given the lack of divisions and neither of them being in the 3 teams we play each year.

I think he’s staying at Ole Miss btw.

Kiffin didn’t force us to hire Dooley or Butch.

Had the admin and AD just completely turned the page and ripped the bandaid off 12-18 months after he left, we would have avoided the Dooley/Butch years.

They tried to be cute and cheap their way to be better and it crashed hard.

It has nothing to do with playing him. I just hate the man and hate FL. That won’t change just because we don’t play them every year anymore.

How you reckon Kellys lawsuit is going to play out after the tigas give Lane a 90 million contract?
Will Lane get the same treatment in 4 years.
Crazy crap

My son is a sophomore at Ole Miss. I’ve been to several games over the last two years. It’s very much the “Lane Kiffen Show” in Oxford. He has done a nice job of rehabbing his image, but he’s still the same Lane. I feel bad for the players, school and fans to be put through this during the best year in modern school history. But that’s to be expected from the same selfish, arrogant Kiffen.

Here's the kicker for me; wherever and whenever Kiffin goes, how many of his players does he take with him in the portal? He'll poach his best players.

He will leave Ole Miss high and dry for a coach and a lot talent that will be harder to replace with a new coach.

And whoever they hire will do the same. Players commit to coaches not the school. It’s a tale as old as time

Programs should really study Clark Lea and his process of building his roster and staff. There aren't a ton of Jerry Kill's out there, but there are some. Maybe even some with an unknown QB in their hip pocket that are just winners, like Pavia.

Jerry Kill's health really kept him from taking that big step at Minnesota. Happy to see medical treatments have turned his health around for the most part.

For sure. All of this is just the preliminaries. Ole Miss is about to get Kiffened like we did.

As I posted earlier this week, this entire episode just shows the absurdity of the current calendar. One easy fix is to move signing day back to February. The tougher issue is the portal. Most coaches want their rosters mostly filled out before spring practice. But Saban had an idea on Gameday this morning that I had never thought about. He suggested doing away with spring practice altogether. That would allow the portal to move to May, and then sometime in June you could have a couple of weeks of OTAs. Honestly, that’s the best suggestion I’ve heard for how to fix this mess.

I don’t know. Im thinking he may stay at Ole Miss. Im wondering if he has matured some since UT /USC. He may have finally realized the grass is not always greener. I find this whole announcement from the AD as being very strange unless he is wrangling for more $ from boosters. What must the Ole Miss players be thinking? Season is not over, chance in the plaoffs, etc. With his son and daughter, both being in Oxford, I think he may stay.

I agree, but the problem with that is that schools basically require their top prospects to enroll in January and it puts the kids who wait to sign at a disadvantage. I always hated the early enrollment, but I'm sort of old school in that mentality.
