I hope Kiffin and the Ole Miss AD are going crazy strategic on everyone right now. I hope Lane and Sexton convince the Gators and cajuns he is coming all the way up till he holds a presser and says he's staying in Oxford just to further toxicify (new word) those jobs.Mattresses, lighter fluid, and sledgehammers are flying off the shelves throughout the state of Mississippi right now.
If Ole Miss is going to match any offer, both in annual salary and NIL money, that LSU and Florida make, I’m not sure why Lane would leave. Don’t get me wrong, I think he still will because of his ego, but same resources with fewer expectations and more job security in a position you’re already finding success in? I don’t think simply being located in a state with more high school talent is that big of a deal these days when money is the primary determinant of where a recruit goes.
My take is Ole Miss fans move away, Atl, Bmhm, Dallas etc. MSU is Ag and Science/Eng school. Seem to be able to get jobs in rural areas, more easily. Ole Miss, seems more in tune with Greek life, and attractive women and athletics. Also has a rep for being easy, to get into...as a school. Most of this state is State fans followed by Bama and LSU. Ole Miss fans are in the minority. Ole Miss is associated with old money and most Mississippians are broke af.
So a big arse country club of rich white folk.My take is Ole Miss fans move away, Atl, Bmhm, Dallas etc. MSU is Ag and Science/Eng school. Seem to be able to get jobs in rural areas, more easily. We are in Gainesville. The tailgate tomorrow was canceled and money is being returned due to lack of interest. Very few TN people here. People checked out once we were out of the playoffs.
But doesn't living in gumpville and having to deal with those sister loving idiots on a daily basis negate all of what you just said? Could you imagine having to actually wear that A with the mullet? Ill give you Florida but I think LSU is probably the better job of the 3 imo.I hate Bama with the passion of 1000 fiery suns, but you're smoking crack if you believe that. With all those championships, and I'm talking the real ones, not the fake ones they also claim, Bama carries more weight than either Florida or LSU.
No thanks, appreciate Joey but time to move onWhat do ya'll think about Joey joining the Pavia petition to get another year? Do you think he can improve in our system enough as we go into next season to definitely be the guy, or does anyone think the portal may have someone better for a season like a Sam Leavitt type guy? On the one hand, Joey already knows the system and should improve naturally getting another year and we won't have to pay big money to keep him (use it on Georges and the entire defense)... He already bleeds orange and most would take him back in a second as I would... On the other hand with Faison coming in, will we have enough horses next season to make a run if we had an elite QB via the portal? I think unfortunately the last few games Joey has regressed a bit and those interceptions are stinging... we can't have that type of play today or next week to have a prayer of winning... Are we seeing the best Joey right now, or does anyone think there's still more there that Joey can work towards?
I know this would be usually a crazy conversation to have, it would always be a resounding of course we want Joey back, but in this new BUSINESS of college football where players and coaches are jumping team to team each year and getting fired mid season if they don't win enough games, it's become a pure business of wins with the playoffs... great example---- if even 5 years ago you told us that vAndy was about to flip a 5* QB from GEORGIA and as of the first of the week there were like 5-6 big schools looking for a new HC DURING the season, everyone would say GTFO... but here we are...
everyone who's played in this system has improved year to year, so...I don't think he's the most talented guy. I do think he needs some help st RB and on defense. What do ya'll think about Joey joining the Pavia petition to get another year?
