Probably not. He wouldn’t get much playing time. And if he did it would be to the detriment of our team.

So, does this show that 1) all our WRs are just a product of the system and they aren't really good, or 2) that we don't develop WRs very well, so they go to other teams and they aren't really good, or 3) they just aren't really good?

If it's #1, thank you Heup for having a system that can make chicken salad out of....
If #2, maybe we need an upgrade at WR coach.
If #3, maybe we need some better recruiting analysts.

If our WRs just aren’t good, then Heupel’s offensive scheme is next level. These guys do themselves a disservice by leaving. RB’s are only good because of the scheme? WRs are only good because of the scheme? QBs are only good because of the scheme? The scheme is a gimmick? None of that adds up.

Nimrod is playing in a similar system against worst competition.

#4 NIL and the portal didn't magical negate the effects of our recruiting sanctions.

Matthews was a 5 star, I don't remember if Cam Seldon was rated higher than Braylon Staley, but I don't think the others were.

So we're seeing that except for a few veteran WR transfers with NFL talent (Velus Jones, C. Tillman, and McCoy*) it takes talent and a year (Brazzel, Hyatt, Matthews, Staley) to pick up Heupel's system.

Next year's WR class looks to be the most talented we've had.

*McCoy was NFL bound before the injury.

Not sure but none of those guys listed are all that great. For sure Squirrel with a mangled shoulder last year wasn’t SEC worthy and should have been benched.

I think that's why Huepel has changed his offense around some. There were many reasons but one was to help receivers be more ready for the NFL.

I'd say it shows that, for the second season in a row, having a mass departure from a single underperforming group is not worthy of a full blow meltdown and hand wringing about the coaching staff by fans.

Of all those listed Squirrel was the only one who got regular playing time. No one else could stay on the field. I just don't think they were that good.

Look, the guy knew he wasn't going pro. He has a kid. FSU, as the highest bidder, was his last chance to make serious money. It was a logical decision made to support his family - I can respect that. Now he can buy his family a house for cash and start a job in coaching, or whatever he wants to do.
