Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Just read this on a Vols vs UF article…

“Andres Turrentine has allowed more completions of 20 yards or more in coverage (12 on just 15 targets) than any safety in the SEC. Edrees Farooq is a big hitter, but he’s allowed 5 completions of 20 yards or more on his own in just 8 one-on-one coverage situations. And that’s just the 2 safeties playing the most snaps!“

We have to spend money on the position this offseason. I mean come on give the defense a fighting chance next year.
Ugh. For how many missed tackles they’ve both had, to also be responsible for this many big plays is even more abysmal.

Guys, on a serious note. Please say a little prayer for old Invol and especially my daughter and her husband. My daughter's dog who used to be ours, is having to be put to sleep. She started acting strange this afternoon and my daughter took her to the emergency vet. Turns out she has brain tumors and is deteriorating very quickly.

Letting her go is hard, especially for my daughter who's been her companion for 10 years but it's the right thing to do.
So very sorry. Prayers, Brother.

According to people who are plugged in and in the know.........Heupel is one of the only coaches in the SEC, that people actually want to poach, that isn't entertaining offers through back channels.
Why would he. There is nothing another SEC team can offer. We are a blue blood. Not ole miss or candy. If you’re a great coach everything you need to win at the highest level is here. And the recent bar is low. Perfect freaking spot.

There are better spots, but there are positives and negatives with each opportunity. The positives here are he has a relationship with the AD, he can trust. He has the NIL to compete. A growing recruiting base in state. Among others.

It all really depends on what you're looking for as a coach. But we do check most of the boxes.

There’s absolutely nothing to defend keeping Norvell at this point unless their athletic department is so deep in the red that they have no way of affording the buyout. And if that’s the case, they have worse problems then a horrendous coach.
