Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Out and about earlier. Sounds like things are heating up on the Kiffin to Florida rumors. Guess he had a meeting with either the OM president or AD today and tea leaves seem to point to him leaving OM. Not surprised Lane would leave a program in the lurch..... again.

NOW WAIT A GOSH DARN SECOND....

Betty on a Yeti comes in from nowhere and drops this nugget...i thought it was LSU?!?

That is not a statement from an AD that is expecting his coach to stay.

With this statement in mind, I just got a text from a very close friend of mine, who I graduated Vet School with who is an equine surgeon at the Vet School at LSU…

Word around town is that Lane Kiffin's son is enrolled at my kid’s school for spring semester in the same grade.

he's going to LSU

he's going to take their entire staff

he's going to take their recruiting class and guys he's been talking to in the portal (sound familiar)

and he's going to LSU, who Ole Miss has loathed for decades ("Go to hell, LSU!" is a common refrain)

Ole Miss's Vandy is Mississippi State. They think their Alabama is LSU. I don't think it's on the same level historically, but they hate LSU. This would be like Heupel leaving us for Bama or Florida or Georgia. Somewhere in that realm.

LSU’s class right now without a Hc is ranked 12. Kiffin’a class is 20th. Maybe he’ll take the top of that class but prob too the rest to kick rocks

Sounds Gruden-y.

I have no inside sources. I just hear rumors here and there. Nothing concrete. But the Florida rumors seem to be driven by Layla and her family connections to UF. People think LSU is just too much of a mess with all the going-ons. But I have no idea. I have heard where consensus was he would stay at OM seems to have shifted to where he will leave OM. But who really knows? He could change his mind during his morning constitutional next Thursday for all we know. This is the guy that left us in the middle of the night. Nothing that he does would surprise me.

Nate projected at #4 pick on some espn article
4. Indiana Pacers
Nate Ament, SF/PF, Tennessee
Freshman
2025-26 stats: 20 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists in four games

Ament has been productive against lower-level opponents to begin the season and will be under the microscope next week in Las Vegas, with all 30 NBA teams expected to send decision-makers to the prospect-laden Players Era Championship. Ament is still learning to leverage his 6-foot-10, 207-pound frame as a scorer, but it has been encouraging to see him attack downhill and draw fouls. Scouts will be eager to evaluate him against better competition, but his frame and skill set portend excellent upside as he gains experience.

The Pacers' devastating run of bad injury luck spilled into the regular season -- Andrew Nembhard, Bennedict Mathurin and Aaron Nesmith have been among the notable players injured. Indiana's decision to reacquire its own 2026 first-round pick back in the spring now looks particularly shrewd, giving the franchise a security blanket and a pathway into a talented draft lottery. After a 1-13 start, it might make sense for the Pacers to lean in to the losing, with eyes on bouncing back next season with a healthy Tyrese Haliburton.

Whether it's UF or LSU, we know Kiffin can recruit. So what? We just need to keep building, then beat his ass if we play.
