Kiffin to LSU?

Where are they getting their money from? They were just out several millions of dollars after firing Kelly and now they’ve got money to make Kiffin a “monster contract” that he can’t refuse? I wish Tennessee administration was that serious about winning!

If he doesn’t stay at Ole Miss he’s going to LSU. I think it’s where he wants to be and believes he has the best chance of winning championships. Lots of smoke Florida is out of it. Also lots of rumors his agent, Saban and Kirby have all told him LSU is the best job of the 3 and are encouraging him to take it.

I think he ultimately wants Bama. That is now his "USC" in that it is the job he would leave anywhere for

Him going to LSU would effectively take that off the table forever. Yes Saban did it, but the politics are more difficult now.

I honestly think Lana is kind of holding back to see how the end of the season goes for Bama. They don't make the playoffs this year and make a bit of a run and those folks are gonna serve DeBoers head on a platter.

I agree that Kiffin wants Bama and Bama wants Kiffin. It's just a matter of time.

I still think he stays at Ole Miss this year and I think that there's some understanding in Oxford that Bama is what the younguns call a "Hall Pass."

I recall, maybe I'm dreaming, that Dabo supposedly had a contract with a reduced buyout or something if he went to Bama. I'm open to correction if that's not right.

Penn State could open up that door. And considering how crazy that fan base is down there, DeBoer would be wise to listen when they call.

If they were going to prepare a monster contract they should have kept the monster they were already paying.

They are going to end up paying Sumrall 10 million a year.

I believe that the Dabo situation was the opposite in that his contract contained a "poison pill" if he left for Bama. Had a much larger buyout to leave, etc.

That might have only been in place for a certain number of years or something. I doubt Clemson would put up much of a fight to keep him right now.

Ahhhh, I think you might be right there. My bad. I recalled a deal there. Kiffin would never allow that kind of thing.

And Dabo. An old linguistics teacher buddy made a joke that Dabo is "past tense" for coach in Gullah.
