✅ 1. The SAME legal restrictions applied under Biden

Everything that prevented the Biden DOJ from releasing the Epstein materials is still in force now:

Court-ordered sealing and protective orders

Victim-privacy laws

Child-sexual-abuse material prohibitions

FOIA exemptions

Judicial control over unsealing


These are not political and cannot be overridden just because a different president is in office.

✅ 2. Biden did not release the files because he legally could not, not because he refused

Regardless of opinion, the Biden DOJ publicly stated the constraints, asked courts for guidance, and ultimately said they had “no legal basis” to release more.

Trump faces the same constraints.

✅ 3. Trump is actually pushing for more to be unsealed

The Trump DOJ has filed motions to unseal some Epstein records, particularly grand-jury materials — something the Biden DOJ did not pursue.

But judges are still blocking them for the same legal reasons they blocked Biden.

👉 So yes — blaming Trump for “blocking” the files is factually wrong.

It ignores:

The unchanged federal laws

The unchanged court sealing orders

The unchanged victim-protection rules

The judges, not the president, ultimately deciding what can or cannot be unsealed

ya’ll? I am an individual and not beholden to any group. I don’t trust any Politician bc they lie too much. How many lies can the media tell before you stop trusting them. Just the other day BBC was caught splicing two separate videos together. The media is all about clicks. and manipulation instead of reporting the news.

.... but the Biden Administration didn't talk about the Epstein files except to say that there was no evidence of a client list - which the Trump Administration confirmed to be accurate.

In February, Attorney General Pam Bondi, went on Fox News and told Jesse Watters that her office would not only be releasing the Epstein files, but they would "make you sick."

She then did nothing but release a set of files containing nothing but material that was already publicly available. It frustrated and angered the MAGA base.

Republicans don't like to talk about Bondi's stunt but it has a lot do with this story as a whole. Bondi overhyped what the White House was willing to make public, and it caused a backlash from within the Republican's own base. That dissention made it a more worthwhile pursuit for Democrats.

The move was a key pillar in the Trump administration's broader goal of thinning the glass between the public and the government in pursuit of transparency.

But the information released by the Justice Department Thursday seemed to be entirely comprised of information that had already been made public over the past decade as a result of multiple cases against Epstein and those in his inner circle.

Is Bondi completely blameless here? It seems to me that she over-promised and under-delivered with the "would make you sick" comment. It also seems like Republicans want to pretend her interview on Fox News in February didn't happen.

I’m not sure but I don’t say that bc of Trump. I started feeling that way in 2016 when Trump was running for President. I am Sixers basketball fan and use to read the Philadelphia Inquirer when it was free. It was a very interesting bc people in Philly are crazy. I noticed that headlines would draw me in and I would read the articles. The headlines wouldn’t come close to matching the articles.

I started noticing how fake or manipulative media can be. It’s not a liberal problem bc it is both right and left wing. I hate them all.

Where I worked in the early 90s we would have CNN on 24/7, I would read what they were going to say, a few hours later it would be on the telly. I didn't work for CNN. 😂

If you can convince people to wear a face diaper, social distance, 15 days to change the curve, vents, etc to stop a cold.... you basically can convince them of anything. We have some really smart guys out here that got everything figured out.
