In horses, corticosteroid injections in the joint do not help bone bruising. It takes time for the bone to heal and pain to go away. In horses we use a medicine called Osphos given in the muscle for bone bruising. It is a bisphosphonate drug (this class of drugs is used for osteoporosis and osteopenia in humans). Works fantastic to help the pain go away. Not sure if human sports medicine uses bisphosphonates for this purpose in athletes or not. I would guess they don’t. Maybe @VolsDoc81TX can respond by Christmas when he gets to this post. Those bone bruises can be very painful.
But a shot of cortisone should have him good as new in no time.
Gators fans were threatening to "Schiano" the guy who just told them "No thanks."
