I like the way they mixed up the regions although it does means more travel and cost... maybe cut down to 16 teams instead of 32.

I think cutting down to 16 or eliminating a classification in public and private would increase competition or at least not let some teams get all the way to the 3rd round without facing a team with a pulse.

Back in 83 it was 3 divisions. 1a 2a 3a. You had to win your division to make the playoffs. There wasn't 6 divisions with 2-8 teams making the playoffs
I remember Old Hickory Academy....USJ now (where I went before BGA) went 8-2 in 1982 and didn't make the playoffs because Riverside HS went 9-1.

4 D1 Divisions and 2 D2 divisions would be perfect.

My friends daughters have a combined 17 national cheerleading championships at several different schools in 3 years.
Way too many state champ games and divisions.

Some close ones
GreeneDevils over AC
Smoky Bears over LC
Oakland squeaks by Green Hill
Milan trailed East Nashville at the half but won by 17
Ravenwood over Whitehaven
Page scored late to win over Beech Sr.

Surprises
Blackman crushes the Maryville Rebs

Alcoa 38-13 over Red Bank
Eagleton 24-23 over bledsoe county. That win marks the first time in 49 years that a Blount county school has made it to the state semifinals.

The Rankins aka Boyd vs BGA will be good... but I think BGA gets another road win.
'ole Rankin needs to careful about calling out teams as soft :D 😉

he said he didn't want touchdowns, he wanted first downs. Make them "tap out"
Congrats. They got Zero TDs and 4 first downs!

and a 49-3 beatdown!

In this post, I'm going to try to go through schedules to find teams that have faced other teams remaining in the playoffs.
