Yes, that Alcoa vs Anderson County score was shocking to me; however, that wasn't the only ranked vs ranked game over the weekend.

I'm not claiming this is all of them but several that were easy to spot were:

Milan over Peabody
Westview over Covington
Oakland over Riverdale
Nashville Christian over Friendship Christian
University School of Jackson over Jackson Christian
East Robertson over East Nashville
Maryville over Oak Ridge
Southwind over Germantown

If I see others then I'll add them.

3A playoff note. Region 3, #4 Chattanooga Central has forfeited Fridays game at Region 4, #1 Giles Co.

Dang that is sad.

1-9 and made the playoffs
$4 to $5k to travel to Giles, probably at least a 2 hr drive (saved)
Has to pay Giles $2k
Ineligible for playoffs in 2026.

All about the Benjamins and not about the kids

Chattanooga Central did the right thing. TSSAA football is pathetic. One entire classification in public and private needs to be eliminated.
