We've had a week to practice, we can't shoot this poorly forever, and MTSU is down this year. MTSU is turning it over quite a bit and they aren't rebounding well. I think this is a good opportunity for us to play better and build some confidence - but the players actually have to do it.

I'll guess Tennessee 80, MTSU 57.

Well the the ladies have dropped to number 15, so they need a good game against MTSU. They must put the petal to the metal. It could be a close one if we haven’t found our three shot or we fail to control the paint. However, the ladies get it together and we win by 20.

This is another scary game IMO. Insell has a bee in his bonnet over Kim's system, and so I'm figuring he's got his players in a mindset that this is their legitimate shot at making huge waves by getting a win Thursday.

We'd better be making enough threes to keep them from packing the lane. And we'd better not waste three quarters on the press if it is immediately obvious that they are a typical MTSU team that is fundamentally sound. If we are not quickly getting a steal or solid trap that feels like they are struggling, we need to get back and defend in the half court because a Rick Insell team is gonna be prepared to drop some bombs on us.

It'll help a LOT if Latham is back. 🤞🏻

When was the last time the Lady Vols went and visited this many mid-majors to start a season? I don't hate it, but it reminds me of a classic Holly rodeo tour through the state.

It does seem that way, but at least Belmont and MTSU are top-notch, perennial NCAA Tourney-quality teams. Our team is probably still learning from those games, so I'm good with the sked so far. 👍🏻

I am just now reading this thread had not heard anything about MTSU being down this year. If that's true, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing leading up to the looming West Coast road trip. We need wins, but we also need to be well tested. I just hope the Lady Vols won't go into Murfreesboro thinking to themselves that MTSU might be a little easier to beat this year, 'cause they can be pretty tough at home.

Obviously this is a must-win game for Tennessee if MTSU is considered down this season. Now I'm REALLY nervous! 😂

Most of these mid majors want a two for one series with two games at Tennessee and then one at a neutral site or at their place. If you’re not willing to do that, the home game cost 30% more. The last staff agreed to these series against Martin and MTSU that included road trips, they just unfortunately all came to roost in the same year that you also drew a road game in the ACC challenge and the road game at UConn.
