I apologize if my idiosyncratic terminology muddied the conversation at all, or caused me to misunderstand him. Whether what I did was strawmanning, I didn't intend as such and apologize for doing so.

I don't care about the disagreements here so much as to *intentionally* misrepresent someone.

Definitely a basketball intelligent discussion on the pros and cons, and of course those who find a prevalent need to show their humor.

One additional advantage for the mid-range shot is that so few players use it on the initial attack of the basket it is not frequently defended. when the defense packs the paint it is open. Also note that zone defenses have a mid-range space for a player to flash into.

I see. I guess we need to define the terms. What *is* a long 2? From @RespectAPA 's context, it would seem to mean anything between the paint and the 3-point line -- which seems fair imo.
