Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I’m really not talking about the injury stuff as much as I am talking about “the other stuff”

the stuff that has been made public regarding boo’s absence and issues with the team

“Like to me, I’m confused. I don’t really know what’s going on about dismissed or the extra stuff he said in the media with me in the locker room or following the rules or standards.”“I’ve been doing everything I could. I told him I was hurt. He wanted me to play hurt throughout the whole season,” Carter continued. “I don’t know, how he’s putting it is making it sound like the stuff that happened in fall camp still.”

Am I missing something here? Perhaps I’m misinterpreting but what I gather from that is he’s saying coach was and is being dishonest about the bolded. Like it didn’t happen? Like it wasn’t the entire reason for his dismissal? And now he’s trying to make it about a phantom injury? It’s sly and I don’t like it.

You're biggest mistake is listening to Boo Carter. I'm sure he's 100% confused, but it's because he's not very bright.

Heupel hasn't said anything in the media, he's been asked questions and he replied to them. It's out there to hear straight from his mouth too.

Should start right at the question (01:34 mark) and this is the comment Boo is trying to address.

What really sucks is that Boo despite being a non-factor most of the season seems to still be constantly in the mouth of the media.

Heupel's been here for 5 seasons now...he simply will not throw any players under the bus or give "clickbait" sound bytes. I wish our media folks wouldn't waste questions and media availability asking about a player that wasn't even on the sideline for the game and is no longer with the team moving forward.

Today's conference they asked him twice about Boo.

No one asked about that pick six moment for Wright, a guy that's put in everything without a scholarship to get to that moment. No one asked about Spillman and how he's now the leading tackler on the team. No one asked about that monster hit by Perlotte either.

But Boo's no longer on the roster on UTSports website so it's pretty obvious he's no longer on the team. Jourdan Thomas (medically retired) still has a roster spot.

Where I have a problem is that he coaches the Safeties. If you were to grade the position groups in order every year he has been here the Safeties are at the bottom of this list. Defense is like baseball, the really good defenses excel in the middle of the field. This years defense imo is better outside in and the results show that
I agree that safety play has been really bad and the middle of the field has been Banks defensive weakness since he’s been here. I see a lack of talent, especially speed. I really don’t have an answer as to why they haven’t been more aggressive in trying to recruit safeties. 🤷‍♂️

A three team bidding war.

Only certainty is Lane Kiffin is likely the highest paid coach in the country within the next few weeks.
He’s taking mercenary to a whole new level. Entertaining other teams while your team is likely in the playoffs is a horrible look. People would be crucifying any player doing this. He’s a snake.

Yeah, I get that. I think the other side of the coin is that every coaching candidate is also doing the same thing (minus the playoff part). NSD two days after the regular season ends is just insane timing.
