Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Perlotte is obviously a vastly superior athlete but I don’t think he was ready early in the season. Linebacker isn’t a very easy position to learn in a few weeks. I heard Kevin Simon explain why it took some time for him to get on the field. Perlotte looks like the best linebacker prospect we’ve had in many, many years. His athleticism jumps off the screen. Can you imagine when he fills out?
Ben. Bolton.

Perlotte could have had his helmet on backwards and been better than fuq’n guy…

I know a bunch want to say it’s all Banks fault the defense is so bad. That’s just lazy thinking. It’s not all his fault.
Really, last year Banks was a genius and now he is an idiot. Next year he will be a genius again.
It's the jimmies and the joes and showing them how to go. I have won it all and had to do very little because I trained up the jimmie and the joes, let them go, and they stayed healthy. Train up a child in the way they should go and when they are old they will not depart from it.

Heupel is an offensive coach, so we spend more NIL on offense than we do defense. We have to do something where we can spend more on defense. Tim Banks is not a horrible DC, IMO, but he lacks the talent he needs to run a proper defense. Last year, when the secondary wasn't such a liability, defense was fine. DL was better because we had space eaters like Omari and Elijah, and ONL was a disruptive force. McCoy and Gibson were playing great at CB. Everything clicked. But this year, we failed to replace the missing parts, so the defense often collapses. That said, Banks is a horrible safeties coach. Apparently, he has trouble identifying talent at the position. Or maybe developing it. Or maybe both. I just know we haven't seen great safety play while he's been here.
He may just have too much on his plate too

So he's saying he should not have been available but he was put on the field anyway?
Are you intentionally trying to misread this?

Q: boo claims he’s injured. Should he have been on injury reports over the past few weeks?

A: No. Not according to our trainers.

Translation - he has no injury.

Edit: A LOT of other folks already clarified this. Carry on.
