Nobody caresSo the Kiffin drama is unfolding with Kiffin sending someone in his camp to Gainesville yesterday and LSU today. I'm still not convinced he's serious about leaving but now there are 3 very attentive fan bases watching Kiffin's every move and everything he tweets gets interpreted as some sort of message he's trying to send when it appears mostly what he's doing is just the typical things he does every year on Twitter to hype up his team and play his role.
Did you make a psychiatric referral?I kinda checked out after the Oklahoma game. Had a patient tell me today that LSU is looking to hire Huepel.
Is that just fan message board rumors, or is there legitimacy to that? Patient kept saying he saw it “on the news online.” But he’s also a 75 year old man, and I have no clue if he has a good understanding that lot of the stuff you see on the internet is crap.
Please tell us how you would describe the stability of the Tennessee football program from 2008-2021. We won 44% of our games during that stretch (67-86). We went to a bowl game FIVE times in 13 years. It was almost 15 years of NCAA investigations, getting blown out by 30 points to anyone with a pulse, and a revolving door of coaches and administrators. Yes. During that period, we were one of the most unstable football programs of all time. If you can name any other historically top 15 team that went through a worse stretch, I'd be happy to discuss it. Even Auburn has a much better record over the last 13 years than we did during that time.
I think the benefit is disguise, they're hoping the LBs are confused by the RB not getting the ball and the actual ball carrier getting to the hole faster than the RB and that the LB won't have as much time to react.Looking at it again, it's such a strange play design.
The benefit of a play like this is that the RB is available to be a lead blocker (see Aguilar's TD against MS State). But they run to the right, so all he can do is jog behind the play and get ready to scrape his QB off the field.
Well that's a Tim Banks argument as well. I mentioned before, some think it's the Jimmie and Joes as to why we have regressed so much. I think it's a fair assessment in both situations. From a fan perspective, why is UGA no longer that dominant defense?
GT, Bama, Miss St all scored on em last year.
Vols and Ole Miss this year.
Those things used to not happen to Kirby’s defenses.
Talent more spread out across CFB? Kirby lost a step on defense?
Highly unlikely that Heup is on their short list of top candidates.I kinda checked out after the Oklahoma game. Had a patient tell me today that LSU is looking to hire Huepel.

Bottom line is you have to have both. I mean do you think OSU stays at the top of the world without a roster stocked full of blue chips and an elite coaching staff? No way.Well that's a Tim Banks argument as well. I mentioned before, some think it's the Jimmie and Joes as to why we have regressed so much. I think it's a fair assessment in both situations.
Even if it were true, why would he want to go to such a mess? And I doubt LSU could offer him more than we can. They have to pay Kelly's buyout. LSU would make no sense for Heupel.I kinda checked out after the Oklahoma game. Had a patient tell me today that LSU is looking to hire Huepel.

I know a bunch want to say it’s all Banks fault the defense is so bad. That’s just lazy thinking. It’s not all his fault.Heupel is an offensive coach, so we spend more NIL on offense than we do defense. We have to do something where we can spend more on defense. Tim Banks is not a horrible DC, IMO, but he lacks the talent he needs to run a proper defense. Last year, when the secondary wasn't such a liability, defense was fine. DL was better because we had space eaters like Omari and Elijah, and ONL was a disruptive force. McCoy and Gibson were playing great at CB. Everything clicked. But this year, we failed to replace the missing parts, so the defense often collapses. That said, Banks is a horrible safeties coach. Apparently, he has trouble identifying talent at the position. Or maybe developing it. Or maybe both. I just know we haven't seen great safety play while he's been here.

Losing Heupel right now would be a monumental disaster for us.I kinda checked out after the Oklahoma game. Had a patient tell me today that LSU is looking to hire Huepel.

Have to make a real investment at the safety position. Its clear that we don't value that position of all of the defensive positions. Don't necessarily disagree with that approach but it's obvious it's our weakest position and have been since this staff got here.Heupel is an offensive coach, so we spend more NIL on offense than we do defense.
